Among the objects of the present invention is to provide a drawer structure and slide construction for a. display stand which is rigid, simple to manufacture from `sheet metal, and easily oper-` able from closed to open position.
Another object ofthe invention resides in `providing a .drawer structure for display stands or` `racks wherein the drawer construction is Yformed so as to readily receive and support a plurality of dividing panels.
Another object of .the present invention `is to provide a drawer structure which includes lateral uprights `or partition members having horizon- ,tally disposed, inwardly extending,"free edges ,which edges have reversely bent,.resilient por- `tiens along which the` bottom of the .drawer is adapted to slide so as to 'provide `a trackway of Vsome resiliency for slidably supporting the drawer. d'

Referring now to the drawings in detail, only the upper portion of the display rack is shown in Figure l; it is shown as being provided with two sides, a back and a top, and with a display shelf immediately beneath the two drawers which form the subject matter of the present invention. The other features herein claimed form the subject matter of divisional co-pending applications.
The sides of the table unit are provided with a pair of side wall members adapted to supportthe shelf, `trough,fand ldrain/er structures, asfwell as f a top enclosing wall. The side wall members are mounted along oppositesideedges of a bottom or floor (not shown). More particularly, each of the side walls comprises anouter panel `24| of sheet i materialand van inner panel 2B spaced therefrom.

A front wall or face for the drawer is provided by the sheet wall member 202extended downwardly beyond .the bottom wall of the drawer as at 204, thereby providing a flange 206 for securement to said bottom wall |30, and, likewise, providing a stop Each of the side walls of the drawer comprises a reversely bent or double sheet of material, preferably metal, the inner layer or Sheet of which is formed outwardly as at 208 to provide an offset portion forming a rectangular enclosure. This offset portion 208 is severed or slit at spaced points 2 I0 to provide for engagement with transverse partitionwalls 2I2. In the embodiment shown, each of the drawers is divided by rearwardly extending partition walls or dividers 2M.
Parallel with the side walls and secured to the bottom wall of the drawer by means of the bentover tabs 2 I 6 and to the rear wall by the fasteners 2|8, a sheet enclosing member 220 formed about each partition wall 2I4 is` similarly conllgurated on opposite sides of said wall into the rectangular protruding wall 208, which'is similarly slit as at 2|0 for the same purpose. The transverse partition walls 2|2 are flanged at the bottom as at 222 and are of such 'length to extend into opposed slits or recesses 2 I 0. f
The bottom supporting flange 222 terminates short of either end of the partition member 2I2, so that the partitions may be selectively arranged in any opposed pair of slits or recesses 2|0 by vertically sliding them into position. The recesses 2| 0, where they pass through the horizontal walls of the offsetportionZ, are substantially circular to accommodate deformed end portions 224 adapted to additionally engage'the transverse partitions for rigidly holding them in position.
The drawers are slidable on the tracks formed by. the flanges I 90 and are laterally guided by thechannel members H88. The angle bracket 226 fastened to the bottom wall by means of a screw "228 limits the outward movement of the drawer jby abutment with the forward drawer supporting strap l86. Y
In the embodiment herein shown there are twov drawers, each of which is positioned above a corresponding compartment ony the under shelf-1B, which compartments are' designated and separated by a partition 88. The present merchandising rack accordingly may be rused by storing or placing separate main assemblies on either side of the partition 88 on the shelf, and storing the associated parts in the respective vertically alineddrawers and trough compartments in advance of the shelf portion 1B.
Changes may bemade in thev form,construc tion and arrangement of the several parts without departing from thespirit or scopeofthe invention, or sacrificing any of its attendant advantages, the form herein described being apreferred embodiment for the purpose of illustrating the invention. Y
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. In a display cabinet or the like, the combination of spaced upright sides and a top providing a drawer housing, fixed supports extending horizontally between said sides and rigidly affixed thereto, spaced upright brackets each having a vertical portion formed with an upper horizontal flange and a lower horizontal flange, each lower flange being welded to said supports and each having beyond said welded portion a reversely bent resilient free edge overlying and spaced from saidlower flange, and a drawer having sides, a rear end, a front and a bottom disposed between said spaced brackets with the bottomrof the drawerslidably resting upon said reversely bent free edges.
2. In a display cabinet or the like, the combination of spaced upright sides and a top providing a drawer housing, supports extending horizontally between said sides and ailixed thereto, spaced upright brackets each having'a vertical portion formed with an upper horizontal flange and a lower horizontal flange, each lower flange being welded to said supports and each having a reversely bent portion terminating in aresilient free edge overlying said lower flange, a drawer having sides, a rear end, a front and a bottom disposed between said spaced brackets with the bottom of the drawer slidably resting upon said reversely bent free edges, and an angle iron overlying the upper flanges ofv said spaced upright brackets and fastened thereto.
3. A display cabinet or the like comprising spaced vertical sides and a top forming a drawer housing, transverse supports horizontally disposed between said sides and xed thereto, `a pair of spaced side brackets extending substantially the depth of the housing and disposed between said transverse supports andthe top of said housing, each bracket comprising a basal flange welded to the horizontal upper surface of each support and eachbracket including a vertical wall, and an additional, inwardly extending upper horizontal flange spaced from said basal flange, and a pair of such brackets disposed intermediate the'said `outside brackets, Ysaid inter mediate brackets being disposed with their vertical walls disposed back ,t0 back and with their upper and lower flanges extending reversely toward the `upper and lower flanges of said outside brackets, and rigidifying members attached to the upper flanges of said brackets, the basal flange of each bracket having a reversely bent,*spaced, resilient edge overlying the flange and providing a resilient slideway and a pair of drawers disposed between said spaced pairs of brackets, the botto-m of each drawer being resiliently and slidably supported on the resilient, reversely bent edges of the spaced flanges.
