More specifically, the construction is characterized by a simple and economical substantially mg to accommodate a shouldered clamping plate to adequately coact with the blade in retaining the same removably in place.

The opposite inner edge of the plate is curved as at M to coact symmetrically and otherwise with the aforementioned curvate edge or surface} (see Figure 5). As previously mentioned, this type of sharpener is designed to utilize discarded safety razor blades, more especially those of the single-edged "Gem type, the portions coacting withthe blade in such a manner that the cutting edge is properly presented for keenly cutting the wood and sharpenit is readily removed and another one is substituted therefor.
