Description

' (Mo-del.)
' J. L. RYNO. Door Roller.
No. 237,910. Patented Feb. 15,1881.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN L. RYNO, OF FARMER VILLAGE, NEW YORK.
DOOR-ROLLER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 237,910, dated February 15, 1881. Application filed November 16, 1880. (ModeL) .To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN L. RYNO, of Farmer Village, in the county of Seneca, and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Door-Rollers;
and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
This invention relates to certain improvements in door-rollers; and it hasforits objects to provide a roller that can be cheaply constructed of cast metal, and which will possess great strength, while at the same time it will be exceedingly light. These objects I attain by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which v Figure 1 represents an elevation of my improved roller, and Fig. 2 a sectional view of the same.
The letter A indicates the roller, which is constructed in two parts, a b. The part a consists of a disk of metal formed with a rim or flange, c, on one side, which forms the tread of the roller. The said disk to is also constructed with a hub at its center which has tapering opening 61, for the purpose more fully hereinafter described. The part 7) also consists of a cast-metal disk, which is formed with a flange, 0, adapted to fit within the flange c of the disk a. At the center the disk b is formed with a frustum-shaped boss, the end of which is adapted to set in the conical opening of the hub at the center of the disk at.
The letter 9 indicates a screwbolt, which passes through a cup, h, fitting against the outer end of the hub of the disk to, and through a central opening in the disk b, by means of which the two parts of the Wheel may be securely held together, an ordinary screw-nut being secured on the threaded end of the bolt.
As constructed, it will be perceived that each part of the wheel can be readily cast in molds of two parts, without cores, rendering the device exceedingly cheap, while the parts can be so firmly secured together as to impart the greatest possible strength to the roller.
Having thus described my invention, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- An improved door-roller, consisting of two disks provided with engaging-flanges near their periphery, one flange forming the rollertread, and the two disks, when connected, the
. side flanges of the roller, one of the disks being provided with a central hub extending into a central opening in the other, and a bolt-connection, whereby the two disks may be secured together, substantially as specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 1st day of November, 1880.
