This invention relatesto a first aid kit especially adapted for military or civilian use, and has for the primary object the provision or a compact and portable kit which may be carried within the pocket of a garment Or within a ladys handbag similar to a pen or pencil being securely held against loss and will provide a plentiful supply of disinfectant and bandage both of which may be easily and quickly obtained and ap lied in case of an injury.

With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation illustrating a portable first aid kit constructed in accordance with my invention.

Figure 3 is a transverse sectional view showing the roll of bandage arranged within the device and the means of severing the banda e in a selected length.

Figure 4 is a perspective view illustrating the bandage in roll form.

Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 5 indicates a cylindrical body in which is formed an antiseptic reservoir 6 opening outwardly through one end of said body and a bandage chamber I opening outwardly through the other end of the body and the latter named end of the body is externally screw threaded to have threaded thereon a cap or closure 8 provided with a plug like portion 9 extending a limited distance into the bandage chamber. The cap or closure 8 is both externally and internally screw threaded so that it may be readily threaded onto the body and also have threaded thereon an elongated tubular casing III which encloses approximately the entire amount of the body when applied to the cap or closure 8. The casing has one end tapered and closed and to which is applied a pocket clip ll An internal shoulder I2 is formed in the casing ill and provided with a beveled face to contact a beveled face formed on the body 5 to effect a seal between the body and the case at the reservoir end of the body to prevent seepage of antiseptic and protrudes a limited distance within the closed end of the casing when the latter is adapted t the body. The protrusion of the applicator from the body is suflicient to permit it to be conveniently used in applying the antiseptic to an injured place on a person.

The applicator may be constructed of any'material suitable for the purpose, such as a spongylike substance.

Arranged in the chamber 1 is a bandage M. The bandage is in roll form and may feed from the chamber I by way of a slot I 5 provided in the body when the casing is removed from said body. One wall of the slot I5 is beveled to form a cutting edge to permit the bandage as pulled from the chamber to a desired length to be conveniently severed.

By removing the closure or cap 8 the bandage in roll form may be readily placed in the chamber l with the free end passed through the slot l5 for use when needed.

The bandage It is preferably made up of a strip of material 15 provided at spaced intervals with vent openings l1 and adhesive applied to one face thereof. Further the bandage includes strips of gauze, or the like, as shown at Hi, to overlie the vent openings l! and also includes strips of gauze H) which are disposed next to the adhesive and may be readily removed when the bandage is to be used.

From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will be seen that an extremely compact, portable and durable first aid kit has been provided which may be conveniently carried within a person's pocket or lady's handbag, and when needed for use will permit the person to readily apply disinfectant to the injured portion of the anatomy and then obtain suflicient bandage to protect the injured portion.

While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:

1. In a first aid kit, a cylindrical body provided with a disinfectant reservoir and a chamber and a slot connecting with the chamber, an applicator connecting with the reservoir and extending exteriorly of one end of the body, bandage in roll form arranged in the chamber and fed therefrom by way of the slot, a closure casing having a sealing fit with the body about the applicator and covering the slot and including a pocket clip, and plug closure means detachably secured to the body for closing the chamber and detachably secured to the closure casing for detachably connecting the latter to the body.
