It will be evident from the foregoing, that when the end B of the needle is inserted into the container in the manner explainedthe tablet E will become positioned on the U-shaped or troughlike extremity D of such end of the needle. The tablet therefore can be readily removed from the container and forced further into the needle to readyit for application to the patient by means of a sterilized push rod L, as is shown in Fig.
4 of the drawing. -As an alternative, the other stopper H and glass rod J attached thereto can ,also be removed and the push rod L' which is slightly smaller in diameter than thebore of the tube F, inserted into the open end of such tube to push the tablet E home within the needle. It will t us be seen that the loading of the needle is made quite simple and there is removed any danger of the tablet E becoming contaminated during the loading of the needle.
Instead of providing ,tWO stoppers and glass rods for the container, the container may have a closed end asis illustrated in Fig. 5 of the drawing, the closed end in this embodiment taking the place of the end of one. of the glass rods J and being spacedfrom the mouth of the container F a distance approximately equal to the length of the loading end B of the, trocar needle. In all other respects the parts shown in Fig. 5 are similar to the corresponding parts shown in the container illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2.
I claim: 1. A container fora medicinal tablet comprising an elongated glass tube, open at both ends and formed at such ends to receive closure members, said container being continuous throughout its length and having an interior diameter such as to prevent material transverse movement of the tablet'to be contained therein, closure members for said container ends, glass rods connected to said closure members and extending therefrom to points within the tube, the lengths of said rods being such that when said closure members are in position on said glass tube, the free ends of said rods will just engage the ends of a tablet deposited therein and will confine such tablet against longitudinal movement in the container.
2. A container such as definedin claim 1, in which the interior diameter of said tube is only slightly greater than the diameter of said glass rods so that in the-region of said tube intermediate the ends of said glass rodsthere isprovided a substantiallyclosed chamber for the tablet.
3. A container such as defined in claim 1, in which said closure members are made of rubber and are provided with cylindrically shaped capping portions adapted to overlie the portions of the tube surrounding the body portions of said members and to maintain the ends of the glass rods in cushioned engagement with the ends of the tablet.

A container for a medicinal tablet comprisof the tablet to be carried therein and having a stop against which one end of such tablet is to abut, a stopper forsaid container including a closure coacting with the latter to eifeotively seal the opening for such stopper against the entry of contaminating material and a retaining rod extending into the body of the container, the length of said retaining rod being less than the length of said container body and being such that When the stopper is in position on the container, the free end thereof can just engage the other end of the-tablet adjacent to said stop, and stop means provided on said stopper and coacting with said container body to limit the insertion ofsaid retaining rod therein and to position the latter so that when said closure effectively sealsthe opening for such stopper, the free end of said rod will be in position to cooperate with said sto to positively confine the tablet against material longitudinal movement in the container. 7 l l 5.
