This invention relates to boxing toys.

An object of this invention is to provide a toy of the character described, comprising a pair of dolls straddling a bar and facing each other, and means to move the dolls toward each other to simulate boxing or fighting, the dolls being loose on the bar so as to have independent movement to a degree relative to each other.

A further object of this invention is to provide a toy of the character described, including a shift rod passing through the legs of the dolls on the bar, the dolls legs being attached together and frictionally pressed-against the shift rod, whereby movement of the shift rod will cause the dolls to oscillate about the bar on which they are mounted.

Yet a further object of this invention is to provide a compact and durable toy of the character described, which shall be easy to manipulate, attractive in appearance, and yet practical and eflicient to a high degree in use.

Other objects of this invention will in part be obvious and in part hereinafter pointed out.

The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements, and arrangement of parts which willbe exemplifled in the construction hereinafter described, and of which the scope of application will be indicated in the following claims.

In the accompanying drawing, in which is shown various possible illustrative embodiments of this invention,

Fig. 1 is a front elevational view of a toy embodying the invention; and

Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken on line 2--2 of Fig. 1.

Referring now in detail to the drawing, I designates a toy embodying the invention. The same comprises a T-shaped member I I having a central handle I2 and a horizontal, cross bar I3 fixed at the middle thereof to the upper end of the handle. Fixed to the bar I3 on opposite sides of the handle and extending upwardly therefrom are stop pins I 4. The handle I2 is furthermore formed somewhat below the bar I3 with a through opening I5 parallel to the bar.

Mounted on the bar I3 are a pair of dolls I6 and I1. The dolls I6 and I! may simulate nude infants or any other similar objects. The dolls l6 and I! are substantially similar in construction and face each other, but of course their faces may be different. Thus for example, the doll I6 may represent an American infant, Whereas the doll Il may simulate a J ap infant. The dolls may have pivot arms I8.

The dolls may-furthermore be formed with legs I9 which may either be fixed to the bodies or pivoted thereto. The legs I9 straddle the bar I3. The dolls are located inwardly of the pins l4 and on opposite sides of the handle I2. The legs I9 of each doll may be tied together as by a cord or loop 20.

Passing through the opening I5 and through the legs of the dolls is a shift rod 25 preferably greater in length than the bar I3. At the opposite ends of the rod 25 are knobs 26 to facilitate moving of the rod. The rod 25.may be covered by a sleeve 28 of any suitable friction material, such as rubber, leather, synthetic rubber, or plastic material.

The legs are pressed against opposite sides of the rod 25. Thus as the rod 25 is shifted back and forth, the dolls will be forced to pivot about the crotch portions thereof Where they are seated or straddle the bar I 3. The dolls will thus move toward each other to simulate fighting and their heads will knock together.

The stop pins I4 to prevent the dolls from coming off th bar.

It will be noted that the dolls are free to move relative to each other so that they.do not have the same motion back and forth all the time.

It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.

As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiments above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawing is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1. A toy comprising a T-shaped member having a horizontal bar-portion and a vertical handle extending downwardly from the middle of the bar, stop members on the bar on opposite sides of the handle, a pair of dolls straddling the bar, disposed on the inside of the stop members, and on opposite sides of the handle, and means to cause the dolls to oscillate about the bar.

2. A toy, comprising a T-shaped member having a horizontal bar portion and a vertical handle, stop members on the bar on opposite sides of the handle, a pair of dolls straddling the bar, disposed on opposite sides of the handle, and inside of the stop members, and facing each other, said handle being formed with a through opening, a shift rod passing through said opening in the handle, and disposed parallel to the bar, said shift rod passing between the legs of each doll.

3. A toy, comprising a T-shaped member having a horizontal bar portion and a vertical handle, stop members on the bar on opposite sides of the handle, a pair of dolls straddling the bar,

disposed on opposite sides of the handle, and inside of the stop members, and facing each other, said handle being formed with a through opening, a shift rod'passing through said opening in the handle, and disposed parallel to the bar, said 10 about the bar.
