the nature of a portable wringer specially and novelly designed for attachment to a toilet seat or bowl, and the primary object is the provision of a wringer capable of use in the preliminary washing of diapers that is now the practice and which is preferably done in the toilet bowl.

One of the important aims of this invention is to provide an inexpensive, durable and quickly attachable wringer for association with toilet bowls through the medium of which the operator the means for moving one end of one roller toward and from the companion roller, and the parts employed for supporting the wringer frame in place.

Minor objects of the invention will appear during the course of the following specification, referring to the accompanying drawing wherein:

Fig. 1 is a top plan view of the toilet seat wringer showing the same in place and with parts broken away to reveal structural details.

Fig. 2 is a fragmentary vertical sectional view taken on line 11-11 of Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a cross sectional vertical view taken on line III-III of Fig. 2; and

Fig. 4 is an enlarged fragmentary detailed sectional view taken on line IV-IV of Fig. 3.

Like reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the several views, and the numeral '6 generally designates a toilet bowl structure, whereupon the wringer embodying the invention, is positioned when in operation.

Toilet bowl "6 has an annular circumscri-bing flange -8 and an opening In, the latter being closed by a perforated, removable member I2 when diapers are to be dropped into the toilet bowl and soaked. The use of this perforated closure l2 insures that a flushing of the toilet will not draw the diapers into the drainage system.

The wringer per se is light yet strong-it comprises a frame l4 constructed of strap metal, with a U-shaped yoke l6 slidably associated therewith through the medium of rivets or analogous elements I 8. Slots 20 in the legs of yoke 16, engage rivets l8, permitting the operator to expand the wringer and draw supports 22 and 24 on frame I4 and yoke l6 against flange 8 of Kansas City, Kans; y October'8, 194 1 Serial No. 14,081 (01:684-248). to preclude marring of the finish on bowl 6.

When supports 22 and 24 are in place, as illustrated in the drawing, the frame l4 and associated parts, about to be described, ar rigidly mounted through the medium of a locking member 26 in the form of a wedge. This wedge 26 is associated with the wringerthrough the medium of a chain or the like 28, and when manually moved into place as shown in Fig. 3 it forces supports 22 and 24 firmly against flange 8 of toilet bowl 6.

A pair of rollers 30 and 32 is mounted in frame M. The rollers have longitudinal, axial pintles 34 and 36 at each end respectively thereof, and the pintles at one end of each roller 30 and 32 are journalled in the end of frame M adjacent to yoke 16. The pintles 34 and 36 at the opposite ends of said rollers are journalled in a bearing plate 38 and in the form of the invention illustrated, roller 30 is rotatably mounted only between one end of frame I and plate 38, but roller 32 is rotatably mounted and swingably disposed toward and from roller 30 to increase and decrease the space therebetween. Bearing plate 38 is preferably spaced from the adjacent end of frame l4 and supported thereon by stud bolts 39 fixed to frame I4. Nuts M are provided on bolts 39 to either side of plate 38 to provide for adjustment of the plate relative to the adjacent end of frame M.

A lever 40 pivotally mounted as at 42 to plate 38 rotatably carries pintle 36 that passes through arcuate slot 44 formed in plate 38 to permit free movement of one end of roller 32 toward and from roller 30 as lever 40 moves about its pivotal point '42. Through this construction, the operator may vary the pressure exerted upon any piece of fabric being moved between the space of rollers 30 and 32.

Both perforated closure I2 and the entire wringer assembly may be quickly removed from their operative positions in bowl 6 and placement thereof becomes an easy task when it is desired to wash articles of clothing or pieces of fabric in the bowl.

It is understood that the toilet seat wringer embodying the concepts of this invention might be made to present a physical appearance quite different from that shown and described, and therefore, it is desired to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

1. A wringer of the character described, adapted for attachment to a toilet bowl or the like, comprising a frame; a U-shaped yoke having spaced legs in sliding engagement with the frame; a support on the frame; a support on the yoke; a wedge movable to position between the frame and yoke to force thev supports against the toilet bowl when thewrin-ger is in operative position; and a pair of rollers rotatably mounted in the frame.

2. A wringer of the character described adapted for attachment to a toilet bowl or the like, comprising a frame; a yoke slidably mounted on the frame; a support on the frame; atsupport on the yoke; a wedge movable to position be-- tween the frame and yoke to force the-supports against the toilet bowl when the wrihger is in the operative position; a bearing plate adjustably mounted in the frame; a pair of rollers having one end rotatably mounted irr the frame and the other end rotatably mounted in the bearing plate; and a manually manipulatable lever pivotally mounted on the bearing plate in connection with one end of one of the rollers to move the same toward and from the other roller.

3. A wringer of the character described, adapted for attachment to a toilet bowl or the like, comprising a frame; a yoke slidably mounted on the frame; a support on the frame; a support on the yoke; a wedge movable to'p'osition between the frame and yoke to force the supports against the toilet bowl when the wringer is in the; operative position; a bearing plate adjustably mounted in the frame; a pair of rollers having one end'rotatably mounted in the frame and the other end rotatably mounted in the bearing plate; andamanually manipulatable lever mounted on the bearing plate", in connection with one of the rollers to move the same toward and from the other roller.
