Description

Inventor Hymn ,3. @003 and DISPENSER Filed Jan. 16, 1943 H. B. GRACE May 9,
Patented May 9, 1944 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
will become apparent to the reader of the following description.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a side elevational view of the dispenser with the upper and lower portions thereof broken away.
Figure 2 is a section on the line 22 of Figure 1. p
Referring to the drawing wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 denotes a tubular shell having its lower portion threaded to accommodate the internally threaded side wall of a bottom 6 which at its central portion has a raised bearing member I.
The upper portion of the shell 5 is shouldered as at 8 and at its central portion has a thickened riser 9 exteriorly threaded to accommodate an internally threaded cap I0.
The exteriorly threaded riser 9 has a central opening through which is disposed a shaft II,
the shaft I I extending downwardly to the botwardly therefrom in a radial direction throughout the entire height of the shell 5 and the inner edge of this partition I I barely wipes the periphery of the shaft I I.
The shaft II carries a wing I5 which projects outwardly from the shaft I I in a radial direction and barely wipes the interior side of the shell 5.
A duct I 6 extends from the periphery of the shaft II just below the shoulder 8 inwardly and then upwardly to open through the upper end of the extension I3.
When the shell 5 is full of material such as toothpaste, shaving cream, etc., the wing member I5 is against or in very close proximity with the partition I I. In order to dispense the contents of the tube 5, the shaft II is rotated in the direction of the arrows in Figure 2 with the result, that the material I! is compressed and forced outwardly through the duct I6 for use.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A dispensing container comprising a rigid tube having a reduced discharge neck at one end, a rotatable shaft extending into said tube through said neck and having an outer end projecting out of the neck, a radial partition in said tube extending from end to end thereof, a radial wing member on said shaft also extending from end to end of the tube, a right angled discharge duct extending inwardly from the outer end of the shaft and opening into the tube at the neck end thereof, a rotor on the outer end of the shaft for manipulation to rotate the same and seating on said neck to seal the neck around the shaft, and a cap threaded onto said neck against the outer end of the shaft to cover said rotor and close the outer end of the duct.
