When the hand grips the handle of a golf club, a vacuum or more properly a partial vacuum is formed in the openings I3, which prevents, or largely prevents, slippage between the hand of the user and the handle of the golf club. It will of course, be understood, that a partial vacuum is created and when I refer in the claims to a vacuum being formed, I mean a Vpartial vacuum. Additionally, vacuums are created in the openings I4 which further create adhesion between the hand of the user and handle of the club through the glove thereby creating double adhesion between the glove and the handle of the club and thereby rendering the possibility of slippage between the hand and the handle of the club practicaly negligible and practically eliminating a slice or a hookf Openings similar to those above described are also preferably provided in the palms of the ngers. Fig. 4 illustrates the supplementary openings I4A in the lining of the glove as hexagonal in form, although it will, of course be understood that they may be of any desired contour.

It will, of course, be understood that my invention is equally applicable to a full-fingered glove as shown, or to ashort lingered glove in which the ends of the fingers' and/or the thumb are cut away.

Hence, While I have described my invention in its preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that the words which I have used are Words of description and not of limitation and that of the appended claims may be made without departing from the true scope and spirit of my invention in its broader aspects.

What I claim is:

A glove comprising a palm portion and a back portion said palm portion of said glove comprising two layers of material secured together and provided with first openings extending through both of said layers, said inner layer only being provided with second openings olset from said first openings.
