3 Claims.
This invention relates to slide loops.
The objects of the invention are to provide a slide loop having an intermediate bar normally held out of the plane of the slide but with a yieldable limited movement toward said plane when under strain; to provide such a slide loop with an upper horizontal bar structure comprising laterally spaced companion loops in the plane of the slide for lateral insertion of a strap therebetween; and to provide for such a slide loop means adapted for the insertion of a strap therein from the rear below and over the intermediate bar and laterally between and behind the companion loops.
Referring to the accompanying drawing, the Figure 1 is an upright face view of the preferred form of the device; the Figure 2 is a top view thereof; the Figure 3 is a side view thereof illustrating an inserted strap with the intermediate bar under no strain; the Figure 4 is an upright face view of a modification of the device; the Figure 5 is a side view of the modified form illustrating an inserted strap with the intermediate bar under a strain; and the Figure 6 is an upright face View of a further modification of the device.
With more particular reference to the accompanying drawing, the slide portion of the device,
as at I, is of a substantially rectangular wire formation having the side bars 2 and 3 and the centrally interrupted upper horizontal bar structure comprising laterally spaced and relatively aligned companion loops 4 and 5 having their closed ends 4A and 5A relatively interfacing. The
spaced relatively aligned lower bar portions 6 and 1 of the slide portion l are integrally provided therebetween with the depending button loop 8, the side bars 2 and 3 and the loops 4, 5, and 8 lying in a common plane. The outer wire extremities in the formation of the companion loops 4 and 5 provide the side bars 9 and i0 inclining outwardly away from and out of the said common plane to be bent toward one another intermediate the rectangular slide portion 1 of the device and meeting in relative alignment and there secure, one to the other, in permanent intimate union. as at l I, to provide the yielding intermediate bar 12 thus normally held out of said common plane, as best illustrated by the Figure 3.
In threading the strap 5 into the slide portion l of the device, the strap S is inserted from the rear into the slide below and over the intermediate bar l2 and then the strap edges are, in turn, laterally inserted between and back of the companion loops 4 and 5.
In the modification illustrated by the Figures 4 and 5, the only difierence from the preferred form resides in the fact that the intermediate bar I21: is a separate continuous member the extremities of which are looped fixedly around the outwardly inclined side bars 93: and Hlx. The threaded insertion of the strap S into this modified form of device is identical with that of the preferred form with the exception that as illustrated by the Figure 5 the intermediate bar I21: is shown held under tension by the inserted strap S.
In the further form of modification illustrated by the Figure 6 the only difierence from the previously described forms resides in the fact that the intermediate bar lzmx is the central portion of a length of wire and the depending button loop is shown to be of axially associated button-receiving loop A and button-retaining loop B intercommunicated by a constricted throat portion C of which the arms D and E of the associated loops are resilient and are provided at their extremities with lugs F and G adapted to be slidingly joined by means of a connecting clip (not illustrated). As in the two previous forms of device, the insertion of the strap S in this form is identical therewith.
I claim:
1. A wire slide loop comprising a strap loop including a horizontal upper bar structure of laterally spaced and relatively aligned companion loops in a common plane; side bars integral with one strand of each companion loop; and a lower bar structure of relatively spaced and aligned bar portions integral with said side bars and having integrally depending therefrom a button loop, said strap loop being in said plane; and an intermediate horizontal bar extending entirely across an intermediate portion of the strap loop parallel to said plane and connecting depending side arms integral with the other strand of each companion loop.
2. A wire slide loop comprising a strap loop including a horizontal upper bar structure of laterally spaced and relatively aligned companion loops in a common plane; side bars integral with one strand of each companion loop; and a lower bar structure of relatively spaced and aligned bar portions integral with said side bars and having integrally depending therefrom a button loop, said strap loop being in said plane; and an intermediate horizontal bar extending entirely across an intermediate portion of the strap loop and parallelly spaced from, but yieldable toward, said plane and connecting depending side arms integral with the other strand of each companion loop; whereby a strap may be inserted from the rear of the device into the strap loop below and over the intermediate bar and laterally inserted between and behind the companion loops so that the pulling strain of the inserted strap will cause the intermediate bar to yield toward said plane against the binding tension of said bar.
3. A wire slide loop comprising a strap loop including a horizontal upper bar structure of laterally spaced and relatively aligned ompanion loops in a common plane; side bars integral with one strand of each companion loop; and a lower bar structure of relatively spaced and aligned bar portions integral with said side bars and having integrally depending therefrom a button loop, all of said strap loop being in said plane; and an intermediate horizontal bar extending entirely across an intermediate portion of the strap loop and parallel to said plane and integrally connecting depending side arms integral with the other strand of each companion loop, said intermediate bar comprising the extremities of the wire formation of the slide loop, said extremities meeting in relative alignment and thus secured, one to the other, in permanent intimate union.
