From the foregoing description of an embodiment of this invention, it should be evident to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications might be made without `departing from the spirit or scope of this invention as dened by the appended claims.

I claim:

l. A paper cup having a wall member provided with an outwardly projecting top marginal bead and provided with a transverse strip element free for a portion of its length from said wall member, and a handle strip having its upper end portion downwardly turned beneath said bead and extending between said free portion and said wall member and having a widened extremity beneath said transverse strip in position to engage thereagainst and prevent detachment of said handle strip, and means for securing the lower end portion of said handle strip to` said cup beneath said upper end portion, said handle strip where said upper end portion is downwardly turned being positioned adjacent to and beneath said bead in position to be held against upward movement by said bead.

2. A paper cup having a wall member provided with overlapping ends secured together, the outer of said ends having two pairs of vertically spaced slots therethrough defining upper and lower horizontal strips free from the inner of said ends, and a handle strip of a width to pass through said slots between said strips and said inner end 'and having widened end portions, each end of said handle strip being extended downwardly and back of one of said horizontal strips.

A paper cup having a wall member provided with overlapping ends secured together and an outwardly extending bead about its upper end, the outer of said ends having two pairs of vertically spaced slots therethrough defining upper and lower horizontal strips free from the inner of said ends, and a handle strip of a width to pass between the free portions of said strips and the cup wall and having widened end portions, each end of said handle strip being extended downwardly and back of one of said horizontal strips, and the upper end portion of said handle strip lying beneath said bead and being prevented thereby from upward movement relative to the upper of said cup strips.
