1 Claim.
This invention relates to a sanitary toilet seat cover, the general object of the invention being to provide a cover which can be easily and quickly placed on the seat and removed therefrom, with the cover formed of material which can be easily disposed of.
Another object of the invention is to provide tabs on the cover for facilitating its removal from the seat without touching other parts of the cover.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the cover.
Figure 2 is a bottom plan View thereof.
Figure 3 is a section on the line 33 of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a section on the line 44 of Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a section on the line 5-5 of Figure 1.
In these views the letter A indicates the cover which is formed of material which can be easily disposed of, such as by dropping the cover into the bowl so that it will be carried off by the flushing water. The cover is of a size to fit over the toilet seat and it has an opening I therein and the inner and outer edges 2 and 3 are turned so that the cover will snugly fit the seat as it will conform to the curvature of the seat, the seat covering portion being bowed upwardly as shown at l. A front piece 5 extends across the under part of the cover for fitting under the front portion of the seat and the edges of this portion are also turned in as shown at 6,
A pair of tabs 1 are cut or attached and bent upwardly from the rear portion of the cover so that the tabs can be grasped in pulling the cover from the seat, thus rendering it unnecessary for the fingers to touch any other part of the cover nor the seat.
This device can be folded and wrapped and sold in vending machines in public rest rooms and the like with the machines having directions thereon for disposal of the cover and its wrapper.
It is thought from the foregoing, description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the claimed as new is:
A toilet cover seat comprising a sheet having an opening therein and a rounded front end, parts of the cover being arched transversely to snugly fit over the seat and a front segmental piece extending across the front end of the cover on the underside thereof for passing under the front part of the seat and forming with said front end a pocket for the front part of the seat, and upwardly extending tabs connected with the rear part of the cover for facilitating removal of the cover from the seat.
