The present invention, however, whichrelates to a portable device for driving household apparatus, tools. and the like, solves the problem in a very simple manner. The device, which consists of an electrical motor enclosed in a casing, is substantially characterized in that the casing has the shape of as to form a support for the device and contains at least two not coaxial shafts, located entirely. within the casing and driven under diiferent gear ratios, as well as a fastening meansadapted to fix a household apparatus, a tool or the like to the outside of the casing in such manner that the drive shaftof the apparatus will be in driving engagement with one of the shafts of the device. Since the device according to the invention has at least two shafts driven under different gear ratios, it is thus possible to drive all hitherto common household apparatus and the most common tools of a household;

In order that a household apparatus maybe fastened to the outside of the casing 2 a plate l5 havinga number of teeth [6 is displaceably provided within the casing. The plate 15 is guided by means of a pin 9 engaging a guide slot in the disc, and by means of a bow-shaped portion l'I fixed to the inner side of the casing. The teeth l6 engage the threads of a screw 18. This screw, the fluted head I9 of which is accessible from outside, is mounted with its free end in the bowshaped portion II. By turning said screw it is thus possible to reciprocate the plate l5. The latter is so shaped that its edge portions 20 may, be brought to cover a greateror smaller part of holes 2| made in the casing. Pins 22 fixed tothe respective household apparatus (Figure 2) and corresponding to the holes 2| are adapted to be inserted into the same, and the edge portions 20 of the plate 15 are adapted to engage grooves or recesses in'the pins 22 when the plate assumes the position shown in Figures 1 and 2. If the household apparatus intended to be connected to the shafts 8 and I0 areprovided with pins 22 and with a drive shaft formed as above described, the respective household apparatus may thus be put into driving engagement either with the shaft 8 or with the shaft II], in accordance with the motive power and the direction of rotation which may be suitable for the drive shafts of the various household apparatus.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination of a driving device and an exchangeable rotary driven appliance, said driving device comprising a casing, an electrical motor in said casing and means located on the II], f
I 3 indicates the various shafts in the motor shaft for coupling the latter to the shaft of the exchangeable rotary driven appliance, said appliance having a plurality of pins secured thereto, said pins being adapted to project into corresponding holes of said casing, and a single slidable locking means located in said casing and being capable of engaging said pins of said appliance. v
2. A combination as claimed in claim 1, in
which said pins have transverse slots and said 10 slidable locking means is a plate having edge portions capable of engaging said grooves.
3. A combination as claimed in claim 1, in which screw threads are provided on said locking means and a screw projecting from the outer casing surface inwardly, said screw engaging said screw threads so as to raise and lower said slidable locking means upon rotation of said screw.
