(o1. 2o6-Q41.1 w*w This.inventionlrelates to tobacco boxes ofthe nature employed for packaging smoking tobacco for sale to the consumer, the boxes being used to carry the tobacco during its n consumptioir. Such boxes are relatively deep and narrow and the tobacco is packed somewhatxtightly therein 3 within a paper linen, When the tobacco has been removed from the top endtof the c0ntainer;.the
consumer is obliged to loosen the remaining contents before it will pour irom the container. This operation may be performed with 'a relatively long instrument and,in theiabsenceof suchan instrument, the operatorusually iises hisfinger forthis purpose; Such use is reasonably satis,

I amawareithat numerous suggestions have been made for emedying this conditionll eww w mnewb h 1;,h ves bee put to practical use except a telescopic two-part container which is objectionable particularly in that the o e,;i l ore i; e se'xmseel o t e air and dries out before being wholly consumed.
One objector myinvention is @toproduce w n- .ls e io r o c tively simple, inexpensive an container and package. 1
The container compri invention may be constructedinone or two pieces andwthe tobacco therein is sealed from exposure to the air except at the pouring mouth ofthe container,
and the arrangementand construction are such that a supply of tobajcco is always held in close proximity to thepouring mouth. ,In the onepiece form of the; invention, means is provided for holding the tobacco adjacent to the pouring mouth when the bottom end of the container is empty. The two-part form of container embodies two adjacent sections each housing a package of tobacco independently of the other section, and so constructed that the cover can be associated with either section whereby always maintaining the tobacco adjacent to the pouring mouth of the container. A further and important feature of the invention resides in the packaging of thetobacco in two half packs in the container i be; and appreciated from r the Fig.3 is a perspective view of aspacerelement employed within the box,

Q isalfragmentary side elevation o f r-the xe n fifr Beferringfirst to the form of invention illustrated in Figs. 1 3, Ill indicates a relatively deep and riarrowwbox orcontainerformed of sheet a e ll or other suitable material, thebottornlfl at I 5. Two, independent packages s and s of. tobacco or other packaged productflnf are packed within the container, the closed or bot. tom ends of the packages being in end to end being closed anda cover I 4 being pivoted thereto relation adjacent to the middle of the container.
Cooperating with the two packages l6 and I8 is a spacing element 22 of sheet metal or other relatively stifi material, this element having two fingers 24 spanning and attached to the bottom end of the bottom package 18 and two relatively longer legs 26 extending upwardly along the side edges of thepackage l6 between the package and the walls of the box.
Upon opening the box, the consumer first uses the contents of package l6, this package being xof such depth that the tobacco can easily be wherebythe bottom pack is kept sealed and fresh 1 during consumption of the top half, all forms of my invention being adapted to such use. The
production of a novel and improved container bacco or the like embodying such container comprises a further object of the invention.
These and other features of the invention W111 oi this nature and of a (salable package of toreached and loosened with a finger. When the contents of package It is'consumed, the legs 26 are grasped and pulled out together with the package l8, and these are then reinserted into the box in reversed position as illustrated in Fig. 2 whereupon the legs serve to hold the package H3 in position at thecopen end half of the box and where the contents can be conveniently 55 reached as was the case with package [6.
