Definitions
- relatively soft material may fill into the grooves I1 as clearly shown at I8 in Figs. 3 and 4. Such action not only facilitates the proper seating of the soap ⁇ piece in the cavity I3 but reduces the possibility of breaking or crumbling the piece and the material forced into the grooves further aids in preventing the soap piece from slipping laterally or in an edgewise direction.
- a soap cake having means for fastening to one side thereof a worn soap piece, said means comprising a plurality of widely separated pointed teeth extending from the side oi'nthe soap cake to enter said piece, the said cake having a recess at the base portion of each tooth extending below the face of said soap cake side, and ribs extending from the point of at least one tooth toward saidrecess and terminating short of the base portion of the tooth in end portions extending outward from the tooth substantially at right angles thereto whereby material displaced from the soap piece into said recess by entrance of the tooth may lodge beneath said ends of the ribs to restrain the piece against removal from the cake.
- a soap cake having means for fastening to one side thereof a worn soap piece, said means comprising a plurality of widely separated pointed teeth extending from the side of the soap cake to enter said piece,l the said cake having a recess at the base means extending outwardly from at least one tooth adjacent its base portion in position to be' engaged by material displaced from the soap piece by the tooth and forced into said recess.
Description
relatively soft material may fill into the grooves I1 as clearly shown at I8 in Figs. 3 and 4. Such action not only facilitates the proper seating of the soap `piece in the cavity I3 but reduces the possibility of breaking or crumbling the piece and the material forced into the grooves further aids in preventing the soap piece from slipping laterally or in an edgewise direction.
To further anchor the soap piece in place I provide the center teeth I5, and the other teeth I6 if desired, with lengthwise extended and radially projecting ribs or-iins I9 which run from the sharp ends down toward the baseand terminate in sharply cut of! ends or end portions 20 substantially in the plane of the surface of the cavity I3. These ribs I9 enter the soap piece II without difculty and as the material enters the grooves I'I as described it is guided and directed beneath the overhanging shoulder means or ledges formed at the sharply cut lower ends 20 of the ribs to thus lock against upward or outward displacement'of the soap piece from the teeth.
It is understood tirati suitable modifications may be made in the structure as disclosed, provided such modications come within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. l y
Having now therefore fully illustrated and described my invention, what I claimfto be new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. The com-bination with av soap cake, of means for securing a used soap piece to one side thereof, said means comprising a plurality of widely separated pointed members extending from the side of the soap cake to enter the soap piece,
, from the soap :arnese fins extending laterally from at least one of said members and' having lower ends terminating in spaced relation to said side of the soap cake and spaced from the bases of the members to provide shoulders beneath which material displaced piece may enter to lock the soap piece against movement of! the tooth.
2. A soap cake having means for fastening to one side thereof a worn soap piece, said means comprising a plurality of widely separated pointed teeth extending from the side oi'nthe soap cake to enter said piece, the said cake having a recess at the base portion of each tooth extending below the face of said soap cake side, and ribs extending from the point of at least one tooth toward saidrecess and terminating short of the base portion of the tooth in end portions extending outward from the tooth substantially at right angles thereto whereby material displaced from the soap piece into said recess by entrance of the tooth may lodge beneath said ends of the ribs to restrain the piece against removal from the cake.
3. A soap cake having means for fastening to one side thereof a worn soap piece, said means comprising a plurality of widely separated pointed teeth extending from the side of the soap cake to enter said piece,l the said cake having a recess at the base means extending outwardly from at least one tooth adjacent its base portion in position to be' engaged by material displaced from the soap piece by the tooth and forced into said recess.
