1 Claim.
This invention relates to purse supports.
The general object of the invention is to provide a novel purse support which may be placed upon a restaurant or soda fountain counter and which will receive and support a ladys purse while the owner is dining.
Another object of the invention is to provide a novel purse support including an inner core member and an outer covering member of unique construction.
Another object of the invention is to provide a novel means for holding a purs support upon a counter.
Other objects and the advantages of this invention will be apparent from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, wherein:
The figure is a front elevation, partly in section, showing a purse support embodying the features of my invention.
Referring to the drawing by reference characters I have shown my invention as embodied in core terminates .at and the flexible covering member is extended horizontally as at 46, thence vertically as at 41 with the vertical portion provided with a fastening member 48 which engages a companion fastening member 49 mounted on the counter 40.
In use the fastening members 48 and 49 are separated and the purse support is swung about the staple 4|. The handle of the purse is placed in the loop portion and the fastening members 48 and 49 secured in place.
From the foregoing description it will be apparent that I have invented a novel purse support which can be economically manufactured and which is highly efiicient for the intended purpose.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
In a purse holder, a core having an end portion with a loop therein, said core including a U shaped body extending from the end portion, a cover on said U shaped body, said cover on the portion of the U remote from the loop being extended to provide a horizontal portion, and an upwardly extending portion, said upwardly extending portion having a fastening member thereon adapted to engage a companion fastening member on a counter.
