(Cl. 211-96) This invention relates to a general utility article holder and has for its primary object the provision of an article holder which will be adapted to support a plurality of diverse articles and objects efiiciently and which will be available for articles of widely diversified nature in complete view for instant availability.

Still a further object of the present invention is to provide a device of the character described,

which will have a plurality of swingable arms adapted to hold articles thereon, said arms each consisting of a straight portion extending outward and a bent-back portion having thereon a plurality of undulations, said undulations being of such nature as to provide support for a wide variety of household articles and/or wearing apparel.

A still further object of the present invention is to provide a device of the character described which will be economical and simple to manufacture.

With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, arrangement and combination of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, siZe and minor details of the structure may be made Without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

For the purpose of facilitating an understanding of my invention, I have illustrated in the accompanying drawing, a preferred embodiment thereof, from an inspection of which, when considered in connection with the following description, my invention, its mode of construction, as-

sembly and operation, and many of its advanr tages should be readily understood and appreciated.

Referring to the drawing in which the same characters of reference are employed to indicate corresponding or similar parts throughout the several figures of the drawing:

The reference character It] designates generally an integrally formed bracket member provided with side ears II which have screw openings I2 therein to provide for attachment of the bracket J0 to a wall I 3 or the like. The bracket is formed in a substantially U-shaped cross-section, as shown in Fig. 2, having upper and lower extensions M for support of the arms l5 of the article holder.

Each of said arms I5 is provided on its attached end with a loop [6, which is pivotally held by the rivet member I! which extends between the portions I4 of the bracket H).

In the preferred embodiment, the arms are made of heavy wire to facilitate formation of the loops I6 and fabrication of the rest of the arm.

It will be seen from the above discussion that each and all of the arms are swingable about the rivet member II by reason of the loop It, so that the said arms [5 may each or all be moved to any desired position about the bracket.

Each of the arm members l5 which are identical in construction is formed with the free end turned back upon the body of the arm. Said free end is provided with a plurality of undulated portions and consists of a substantially vertical loop I9 followed by a series of comparatively spread-out loops 20. Said arms are novel in the formation of said undulated portions because of the diversity of articles which may be suspended and supported upon them for instant removal.

The undulated portions are excellently adapted to hold pot covers, for example. Pot covers having U-shaped handles may be supported by the loops I9, and pot covers having knobs may be supported in the V-shaped grooves between the spread undulations 20. Said V-shaped grooves are also adapted to support a plurality of garment hangers, kitchen utensils, ties, socks, lingerie, and a wide variety of apparel and household equipment. The body portions l5 may be usedlto support towels, wash cloths, or drying appare The arm itself may be used out-of-doors to air blankets or the like. The blanket is slipped on to the arm below the undulations, and the resilience of the wire presses the undulations upon the blanket or the like, holding the same from being released by the wind. V

Still further, all of the arms may be spread, and a large article such as a sheet or the like may be spread thereupon and held from slipping by the ends 2| of the arms.

Not only can the device disclosed be used in an upright position as shown in the drawing, but it is obvious that it can be used in a reverse position with as much utility and efiiciency as when upright. This may be a more advantageous position for certain uses. a 1

Thus it is seen that I have presented a simple yet effective collapsible general utility article holder, which will easily and efiectively support; a plurality of diversified articles and yet permit ing said pivotal mounting and having its other end provided with a bent back extension, said extension being formed with a plurality of undulations, the free end of said extension being substantially spaced from the body of said arm whereby a plurality of diversified articles may be readily and conveniently removably disposed and held upon the undulations of said bent back extension, upon said body portion, or between said body portion and said extension, or upon said body portion and bent back extension combined.

In an article of the character described, a. substantially U-shaped bracket adapted to be attached to a relatively stationary support, a pin "vertically disposed between the arms of said U- Q shaped bracket, a plurality of wire arms each construction and assembly, and many of its 'ad= vantages should be readily understood from" the foregoing without further description, and it should also be manifestthat while a preferred embodiment of the invention has been shown and described for illustrative purpose, the structural details are nevertheless capable ofwide pivotally mounted upon said pin, each of said wirearms comprising a body portion having a horizontally disposed eye formed at one end thereof adapted to engage and freely pivot upon -said pin 'whereby each of said arm will be freely swingable in a horizontal plane parallel to and spaced from theplanes within which the other arms are adapted to swing, the other end of each of said arms being provided with an undulated bent back portion extending substantially spaced from 'and parallel tothe body portion of said arm, said extension and arm being in a substantially vertical plane, said extension being adapted to support a plurality of diversified articles on the undulations thereof and at the same time permitting access to said body portion and therebyallowing articles to be concurrently supported thereon, any of the articles supported on said arm being readily removable therefrom.
