(o1. 40-109) My invention relates to improvements in perpetual calendars, and an important objectief the invention is to provide a simple, convenient, and ecient arrangement of this character which is readily adaptable to different decorative schemes and which provides an unusually useful and attractive assembly.
Other important objects and advantages of my invention will be apparent from a reading of the following description taken in connection with the appended drawings, wherein for purposes. of illustration I have shown preferred embodiments of my invention.

Referring in detail to the drawings the numeral 5 generally designates the present calendar which consists of a backboard 6 of generally rectangular vertically elongated form, made of suitable stiif material such as cardboard, fiber, lightweight opposite ends of which rise side members andv,
respectively. The ' members 1, 8 and 9 have spacers I0, as shown in Figure 7, securing them f to the front of the backboardY 6 so that laterally lnward portions of the elements 1, 8 and 9 are spaced from the backboard so as to provide grooves for reception of the interchangeable picture cards II, of which six are provided, with different views on opposite sides of each of the picture cards, together with a designation suchV as that indicated by the numeral I2, applying to the month during which the particular picture is to be exhibited, so that a pertinent picture is provided for each month of the'year.
, Slidably mounted by and between the horizontal element 'I and the lower horizontalV element I8 is the slide frame comprising two uprights I3 and I3',` respectively, which are spaced from the side edges of-the plate 6 and from each other a sufficient distance to slidably receive therebetween the month cards I4, the elements I3 and I3 being spacedly secured by spacers I5 to the front face of arectangular plate I 6 which is slidable on the face of the plate 6 as indicated in Figure 5, the arrangement providing grooves for reception of the edge of the month card I4 as indicated in Figure 5, the month card then occupying a position in 4front of the face of the plate I6. A vstop strip I'I is secured between the lower ends of the uprights I3 and I3 to be engaged by the bottom edge of the month card when the month card is in place. The lower horizontal strip I8 is fastened across the lower end portion of the plate 6 as illustrated in Figure 1. VAttached to the lower edge I9 of the plate 6 is a narrow month card receptacle 20 which is composed ci a back plate 6', being an extension of the plate 6,`a front plate 2| coextensive therewith, two uprights 22 and 23 and a front plate 24 which is spaced by the uprights 22 and 23 from the plate 2l as illustrated in Figure 6, thereby providing a receptacle for the month cards I 4, including the leap-year cards I 4. The receptacle 20 contains all of the month cards including the leap-year cards except the one which is in use in the display frame above the receptacle.
As' indicated in Figure 3 at the point designated by therespective numerals 25 and 26, the upper and lower edges of the display frame composed by the elements I3; I3 and I'I, have projecting anges which engage in grooves in the cross members I and I8, respectively, so as to be slidable between these members for a purpose to be described.

Acalendar of the type described, said calendar comprising a backboard, a pair of verticallyspaced horizontal slides extending on the face of said backboard, a horizontal slidable frame. mounted between said slides, said frame comprising a plate having upper and lower horizontal slots, anl upper week-day line on thev face of :said backboard for showing through the upper slot, a lower week-day line on the face of said backboard for showing through the lower slots in said plate, a month card, Vvertical slides on said frame vfor slidable reception of the month card, said month card having upper and lower slots toregister with the slots in the plate of said fram-e, a linear series of consecutive year designations exposedthroughuan opening in the upper horizontal slide, a month tabulation on the upper edge of the month card for registration with the appropriate one of the year designations, each slot of the month card being of a length to encompass seven week-day designations of the -corresponding week-day line on the face of the backboard.

A calendar of the type described, said calendar comprising a backboard, a pair of vertically spaced horizontal slides extending on the face of said backboard, a horizontal slidable frame mounted between sai-d slides, said frame comprising a plate having upper and lower horizontal slots, an upper week-day line on the face of said backboard for showing through the upper slot, a lower week-day line on the face of said backboard for showing through the lower slots in said plate, a month card, vertical slides on said frame for slidable reception of the month card, said month card having upper and lower slots to register with the slots in the plate of said frame, ai linear series of consecutive year designations exposed through an opening in the upper horizontal slide, a month tabulation on the upper edge of the month card for registration with the appropriate one of the year designations, each slot of the month cards being of a length to encompass seven week-day designations of the corresponding week-day line on the face of the backboard, a calendar layout related to eachV of the slots on the month card.

A calendar of the type described, said calendar comprising -a backboard, a pair of vertically spacedfhorizontal slides extending on the face of said backboard, a horizontally slidable frame mounted between said slides, said frame comprising a plate having` upper and lower horizontal slots,l an upper week-day line on theface of said backboard for showing through the upper slot, a lowerl week-day line on the face of said backboard vfor showngthrogh thelower slots in said plata-amonth card,-vertical slides on said frame for -slidable reception of the month card, said month cardhaving-upper and lower slots to registerfwith'thelslots in the plate of said frame, a month card receptacle under the lower horizontal slide,said receptacle containing six regular month cards and twoleap-year-month cards, each of the. month cards havingconsecutivemonth calendarsiarranged yon the opposite faces thereof.

A calendar comprising a support comprising a main plate, upper and lower rollers supported behind said main plate, a ribbon mounted on said rollers having transverse rows of year designations thereon for selective exposurevthrough a horizontal opening formed in said main plate, a pair of vertically spaced slideways on the front of said main plate below said .horizontal opening, a slide framesupported for horizontal adjustment in front of said main plate by said slideways, means comprising at least one month card carried by said slide frame, said month card having a tabulation at its upper edge arranged to be aligned with a selected one of the year designations of the selected one of said rows of year designations exposed through said horizontal opening, an upper horizontal line of consecutive week-day designations on said main plate adjacent to but below the upper slideway, a single upper horizontal slot formed in said month card arranged to expose seven consecutive week-day designations in said upper line, a month calendar layout on said month card below said upper slot having its vertical columns of date numerals arranged ior alignment with the selected seven week-day designations of said upper line.
