A branch pipe 45 leads off sideways from the upper end of tube i4 and is provided at itsvouter end with a faucet 39, thedischarge from which is controlled by a valve 40.

Sleeve 36 is set so that its flange 38 compresses block 34 sufficiently that there can be no appreciable leakage of air or gas from clearance 32 yet the block will permit tube I4 tofbe pushed throughit as desired. If there is sufiicient gas pressure inthe bottle the liquid will rise to valve 40. vOperating valve 40 will allow liquid to be dischargedfrom faucet 33. If the gas pressure is notsufiicient pump 33 is used to get up suiiicient pressure. Whenr a quantity of liquid has been discharged from the bottle and no Vmore liquid will come out rwhen valve 4Q is opened, pump .33, is operated again. Pump 33Vforces air intQthe bottle through clearance 32, opening 9 and Vbetweenthe pierced gasket and tube I4 where it passes through. With the air pressure thus obtainedthe liquid is discharged from faucet 39 when valve 4 0 is opened.
The type of apparatus shown in Fig. 6 is especiallyV/adapted for bottles having thin necks closed Vby corks instead of crimped caps. While the crimped cap, oiten called a crown cap, is my preferred form, other types of cap, with a gasket inside their outer shell, may be used such as a screw cap with the neck of the bottle correspondingly threaded. A screw cap lends itself readily to having its tough outer shell of other material than metal such as a phenol condensation product.
The term bottle as used in the claims is intended to be broad enough, except where it is clear by the context that a bottle is meant, to cover in addition to the usual glass bottle, a gas- `tight container. with some form of bead, enlargement or irregularity with which the adjustable detachable clamping ring can engage. I claim:
1. In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held under gaseous pressure in a container, a cap fastened to the container for hermetically sealing the same, said cap having a tough o uter shell and a gasket inside, said gasket comprising a gas-tight but readily pierceable material, the shell having an opening in its top and the gasket initially being intact across said opening, `a tube inserted into the container Vthrough the opening in the shell and by piercing the gasket, the bottom of the tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, means for sealing the outside of the tube to the container, said means providing an air passage between itself and the tube, means for pumping air into said passage the air being forced past the gasket into the container from said passage, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of the liquid from the container. f
2. In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held under -gaseous pressure in a bottle, a cap crimped on the bottle, said bottle having an enlargement on its neck below where the cap is attached, a detachable clamping ring set on the bottle over said enlargement, the lower portion of the ring coming below the enlargement and being of less inside diameter than the outside diameter of said enlargement, said cap having-a tou`gh shell and a gas-tight readily pierceable gasket inside, the shell having an opening in it and the gasket initially being intact across said opening, a tube inserted into the bottle through the opening in the shell and by piercing the gasket, and means on the tube adjustably engaging said vclamping ring and providing an air passage outside the tube, the lower end of said passage being at the cap, means for pumping air into said passage, the air being forced past the gasket into the bottle, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of the liquid from the bottle.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held under gaseous pressure in a container, having a neck, closure means for closing the neck of the container, a tube extending into the container through said closure means, said tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, detachable clamping means set on the neck of the container, encasement means encircling. said tube, said means being near one end, in sealed engagement with the outside ofthe tube, Ithe other end of said means adjustably engaging the clamping means and in sealed engagement with the closure means, said encasement means providing an airpassage outside ofthe tube, means for pumping air into the air passage; the air forcing its Way from said passage by the outside of the tube where the latter passes through the closure means into the container, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of liquid from the container.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held under gaseous pressure in a container, closure means for closing the container, a tube inserted into the container by piercing the closure means, the bottom of the tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, said tube being provided at its bottom with a point for facilitating the piercing oi the closure means, means for sealing the outside of the tube to the container, said latter means providing an air passage outside of the tube, the bottom of said passage being at the closure means, means for pumping air into the air passage, the air forcing its Way from said passage by the outside of the tube Where the latter passes through the closure means into the container, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of liquid from the container.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held under gaseous pressure in a container having a neck, closure means for closing the neck of the container, a tube inserted into the container by piercing the closure means, 4a detachable clamping ring set on the neck of the container, encasement means encircling said tube, said encasement means being provided with a circumferential groove, a sleeve having at its upper portion a` radially extending ange rotatably mounted in said groove said sleeve having a threaded portion, a second sleeve, below said first sleeve in threaded engagement therewith, a second ilange below said groove extending radially from the encasement means, a rubber block coming inside said second sleeve and located between said second flange and the top of the closure means and means depending from said second sleece detachably engaging the clamping ring, whereby the rotation of said first sleeve compresses the rubber block Abetween the second flange and the top of the closure.

In a device for attaching air pumping and liquid dispensing apparatus to a container having a neck, clamping means in the form oi a ring detachably fastened to the neck of the container, lugs on said ring extending radially therefrom, members on the apparatus extending downwardly therefrom, each member having a hooked lower end coming under a lug.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held in a container, having a neck, closure means for closing the neck of the container, a tube extending into the container through said closure means, said tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, encasement means encircling said tube and in slidable engagement therewith, means for fastening the encasement means to the neck of the container, said encasement means being in sealed engagement near one end with the outside of the tube, the other; end of said means being in sealed engagement With the closure means, an air passage being provided out of communication with the air in the tube leading from the inside of the encasement means to the inside of the container, means for pumping air into the air passage, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of liquid from the container.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held in a container, closure means for closing a discharge opening in the container, a tube extend ing into the container through said closure means, said tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, a member on said tube outside of the closure means, leaving a space between the inside of said member and the outside of the tube for an air passage, means ior fastening said member to the container, a gasket located between the upper portion of said member and the tube sealing off the top of said passage, a second gasket between said member and the outside of the closure means for sealing off the lower portion of the passage, said tube being slidably mounted in said gaskets, means mounted on said member for pumping air into the passage between said gaskets, forcing air into the passage and past the closure means into the container, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of liquid from the container.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held in a container, closure means for closing a discharge opening in the container, a tube extending into the container through the closure means, said tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, a member on the tube outside the closure means in sealed engagement with the tube and closure means, providing an air passage out of communication with the air in the tuibe, means for fastening said member to the container, said tube being slidable with respect to said member, meansattached to said member for pumping air into the passage and past the closure means into the container, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of liquid from the container.

In a liquid dispensing system for liquid held in a container having a neck, a cap for closing the neck of the container, said cap having a tough outer shell and a gasket inside, said gasket comprising a gas-tight but readily pierceable material, the shell having an opening in its top and the gasket initially being intact across said opening, a tube inserted into the container through the opening in the shell and by piercing the gasket, the bottom of the tube reaching substantially to the bottom of the container, means for sealing the outside of the tube to the container,'means for attaching the sealing means to the neck of the container independently of the cap, an air passage being provided through the sealing means past the gasket into the container and out of communication with the air in the tube, means for pumping air through said passage into the container, and valve means on the tube for manually controlling the discharge of the liquid from the container.
