. In Germany April 1, 1937 i claim.
llhis invention relates to a spraying device for cosmetic liquids such as hair lotion.
u'llhe known sprayers for hair lotion and similar stichy substances are mostly constructed in such a anner that the sprayer-tubes are arranged in a sleeve adapted to be fitted on the air container, and which serves as liquid container, the atomized liuuid being discharged through a closable aperture in the sleeve. It is necessary, in view o! the sticlty nature of many` cosmetic liquids, to introduce a needle into the riser tube after use to prevent the riser tube lrom becoming clogged. For this reason the sleeve has been provided with a removahle cap to enable the introduction oi the nee die, the upper time tor introducing the liquid. However, an oislection to this arrangement is, that the cap and the needle often get lost so that the sleeve and riser tube cannot be closed with the result that the riser tube becomes clogged and the liquid in the sleeve has partly or completely evaporated hetore the device is again required for use.
the spraying device according to the invention villiers lrorn the devices of known constructions in that a movable straight or undulated needle is detachaioly or permanently secured on the sleeve or on the closing cap of the same, whereby the needle may he secured eccentrically movable on the cover oi the closing cap.
the cap may he permanently connected with the sleeve and provided with a hinged cover, and the needle has two arms, one of which is lensitudinally shit'table whereas the other is rigidly :lined on a suitahle point of the sleeve.
ldy the construction oi the spraying device accordina to the invention the advantage is derived that the needle lor the riser tulle ol the sprayer can no loneer set lost, as it is not necessary to remove lt trom the riser tube. Similarly, owina to the arranaement ci a hinged cover on the closins cap, it is not necessary that there is no danser of it needle llor the riser settles lost. as the tube is always at hand and can he introduced without dimcul ty into the riser tithe alter the spraying device has heen used, the trouhlesome cloesins ol the riser tuhe is avoided. ylhe time-wastiny, tedious cleanins,r oi this riser tuhe every time helore use is saved and a uniiorm atomiaation ol the hy the construction oi the sleeve accommostatins,r the sprayer tuhe, this sleeve can he used either as liuuld container, or it can he litted on any container and actuated foy a ruhher hall in hnowu manner.. ily tapering the riser tuhe the danser oi sleeve opening serving at the sameliuuid attained. Furthermore,
Llil
to remove the cap so `has an internal or external screw clogging is minimized and at the same time the liquid'is ted more reliably.
Several embodiments oi the invention are illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows the section,
Fig. 2 is a similar view of a modified form of construction,
Fig. 3 shows the spraying device constructed as liquid container,
' Fig. 4 is a section on line lil--Il ol Fig. 2.
Fig. 5 shows in vertical section another modispraying device in vertical rled form ot construction,
Fig. 6 shows yet another in elevation,
Figs. Z to i) snow different needle shapes.
The spraying device comprises atomizing tubes a and b which are arranged in the sleeve c of metal, pressed material or the like. This sleeve thread d by means of which it can he secured on a liquid container e. In sleeve c a cap y is removably and ro tatably inserted, and in the top plate of this cap a needle y of a length corresponding to that of the riser tubes is mounted so that it can be ro form oi construction tated.
.according to lila. 2 the cap i is not detachable yet rotatable in the sleeve c, so that an aperture it in the sleeve and an aperture i in the cap can he hroueht into resister. .it cover in is mounted on the cap f hy means oi a hinse it. llie needle u preventins the cleaning oi the riser tuhe d has two arms, one oi which is permanently yet lonaltu- .dinally shiftahly secured at a suitable point on the sleeve c and on the atomisins tuhes. lily pullm ins the needle y upwards the arm oi the needle in the riser tube can he swunsr out el the same withM out detaching the needle s trom the sleeve. ln the saine simple manner the riser tuhe oi the sprayer can he closed.
Iliie sprayins device illustrated in lilla. li shows the sleeve c constructed as a container tor the liquid to he sprayed. The riser tuhe a entends to the hottorn ot the sleeve c whereas the air tune n entends throush the bottom thereot. llior iisins the sleeve c on the mouth oi" a iuhher liant n, the sleeve has an annular rin p which hears aaainst the neclr. oi the lisait. 'll'o secure the sprayins den vice on ilaslrs with small mouth, a nipple n is provided on the lower end oi the sleeve c and preierahly iorms at the same time the lower mouth ci the air tube n. The needle u lor mouth or the riser tuhe a may he constructed with two arms, hut it can also he lined on the removahle eieaniny the cap as in the form of construction shown in Fig. 1. .In the form of construction shown in Fig. 5 the spraying device comprises a liquid container c preferably of artificial resin. which is ilxed in known manner with the pressure tube n in the rubber ask o serving as blower ball. The Wire needle g provided with a closing piece r is held in the tapered riser tube a by zig-zag bends s. The zig-zag bends s bear against the inner wall of the riser tube a and hold the needle tightly in its actual position by frictional pressure. When it is desired to use the sprayer, the needle is raised in the riser tube until the closing piece r is out of the range of the blower tube, whereas the zigzag portion of the needle remains in the riser tube. The closing piece r of the needle is coated with rubber, varnish or the like. The closing piece may, as shown in Fig. 8, consist of a ball of rubber, leather, cork, wood or artificial resin instead of being made of the needle material itself. According to Fig 6 the liquid container c o can be placed in the rubber flask o. To obtain a tight closure a cap nut uis secured on the liquid container c by a screw connection and bears against the neck'oi' the rubber ilask o.
I claim:
A spraying device for liquid cosmetics, comprising in combination, e. container, a, riser tube in andprojecting from theupper end oi the container, a sleeve ltted on the upper end of the container and surrounding the projecting portion of the riser tube, a cap detachably connected to said sleeve, an air blast tube leading to the upper end of saidriser tube and a needle comprising a wire bent at its upper end and eccentrically and rotatably mounted in said cap with the lower end extending downwardly in the upper end of the riser tube and adapted to be longitudinally displaced by said cap and out of range of said blast tube.
