(01. 40-125) This invention relates to an advertising dismatter may be imprinted, such as the design of p ay d v a d more p c a y to O e of he theinterior spring construction of the mattress roller shade type. and any other special features to which it is de- One of the objects of this invention is to prosired to call the prospective purchasers attenvide an advertising" device of the roller shade tion. This sheet is made of any suitable ma- 5 yp in W ich he support for the roller shade terial such as shade material or the like which is held in position by the article which is admay be supported on a roller l2 which may be vertised. the usual spring type shade roller so that the A more specific object of this invention is to sheet may be readily rolled up on the roller produce an advertising device of this character whe it, i desired to display the top of the 10 for advertising mattresses and the like which mattress.

The mattress may be supported the base 15a and the end members I60. and lla on any. suitablesupport l0 such as a platform to provide a lighter construction and the rear or bed spring or on a bed if desired. The adupstanding member l9a has been extended upvertisingrdisplay device comprises a sheet of wardly to simulate the head end of a bed which .material H upon which any suitable advertising may support a display card 22 inserted between connected as indicated to the members the shade roller and the member Mia, and resting on the base l5a as indicated.
In the modification shown in Figs. 4 and 5,
provision is made for folding the support for easy shipment. In this modification the base 15b is provided with an upstanding member 24 to which is hinged as by any suitable hinge construction 25, amember 26 provided with forwardly extending end flanges Nib and 11b to which brackets, not shown, supporting the roller 12 are secured. The member 26 may be extended forwardly to provide a hood member 200., corresponding to the hood member 20 in Fig. 2.
For the purpose of holding the member 26"in' vertical position and also for holding the support against lateral movement with respect to the mattress, each end of the member 26 is preferably connected by suitable linkage connections to ends of the base 151), the linkage connections comprising links 21 and 28 pivotally 15b and 2B and connected together by a break hinge construction as indicated at 29. When it isdesired to ship the support, the support may be folded as indicated by the dottedlines in Fig. 5 r
In Fig. 6 I have shown another, construction in which the base [5c consists of a narrow strip of material provided at its ends with upstanding members I60 and 11c which support a shade roller as indicated, the support He being provided with the usual circular opening rotatably receiving the trunnion fixed in one end of the shade roller and the support lEic being provided with a conventional form of interrupted non-circular locking opening .30 cooperating with the trunnion at the other .end rotatably mounted in it and to'which and the roller the roller spring is connected. Those details have not been shown as they are old and well-known. The members 160 and He are preferably connected together at their upper ends by a bar 3! and all of the members I50, I60, Ho and 3'! may be made from a continuous bar. For the purpose of holding the sup-port in position on the mattress I provide the support with a clamping bar 32 the ends of which may be turned downwardly asindicated at 33 and 34 to slidingly engage the members Hi0 and and in which are mounted threaded studs 35 and 36 projecting through slots 3'! and 38 in the members 160 and lie whereby the clamping member 32 may be raised before the mattress is laid on the base and then lowered into clamping engagement with the mattress in which position it may be clamped by means of thumb nuts 39 and 40. This provides a very much lighter construction than the other modifications described, at the same time providing means whereby the shade roller will be held against movement in the direction of the length of the mattress and in angular relation thereto when the advertising sheet H is drawn over the mattress asindicated in Fig. l.
While I have described several constructions made according to the principles of my invention, it is to be understood that I reserve the right to make'all such other changes as fall within the principles of the invention disclosed and hereinafter set forth in the claims.
