IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED SNOW PLOW A ND BRUSH.
Specification forming part of Let-ters Patent No. 222,036, dated November 25, 1879; application led September 10, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER GRAFF, of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State ofIllinois, have invented aneT and valuable Improvement in Combined Snow Plow and Brush; and I do hereby declare that the followin gis afull, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part `ot' this specification, and to the'letters and iigures of reference marked thereon. l

' This invention has relation to that class of track-cleaners in which is employed a plow composed of two hinged sections, and having in the rear of it a revolving or stationary brush or brushes.
The present invention, however, diers from the' 'above class ot' track-cleaners, as the plow forms a shell which completely encircles Vthe brush, `the head of .the same serving as a means for securely fastening thereto the shell of the plow, as will be herein-after more fully described.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the shell of the plow, ot' galvanized iron or other suitable metal or, if desired, it may be of wood, or any other material adapted to the purpose. This plow is preferably wedgeshaped to more eft'ectually remove the heavy snow, sleet, ice, or any other obstruction, from 4the track.
The shell A incloses a brush, B, formed of steel wires of the desired length to project below the edge of the shell ot the plow in order to act in conjunction therewith.
The brush B may be composed ot' steel or other metal wire, or any ofthe materials used in the manufacture of brushes. This brush is connected to a head, O, in form to correspond with the form of the plow, the shell thereof what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
