rangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein described, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing, from the spirit of the invention.
Referring to the drawing: Figure 1 is an elevational view illustrating a case constructed in accordance with the invention as positioned in a pocket, the securing means of the case gripping the outer surface of the pocket. 1

Figure 4 is a sectional view taken on line 4-4 of Figure 2.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the case comprises a body portion indicated generally by the reference character 5, the body portion comprising a length of sheet metal material of a length to fit within the usual vest pocket. One end of the body portion is extended inwardly as at 6 providing a flange across the upper end of the body portion.
The ends of the inwardly extended portion, are extended downwardly providing supporting surfaces 1. Spring clips indicated at 8 extend from the ends of the portion 6, and are curved to conform to the curvature of a pen or pencil, the free ends of the clips lying in spaced relation with the supporting surfaces 1, so that they cooperate with the supporting surfaces 1 in gripping a pen and pencil, as shown by the drawing. The inwardly extended end portion 6 is cut-away at a point substantially intermediate its ends, to provide a finger opening, whereby a person may grip the spectacle case held within the body portion, the spectacle case in the present showing being indicated at 9. To remove the spectacle case while the device is in the pocket of the user,
it is only necessary to grip the upper end of the spectacle case and force the spectacle case slightly downwardly until the upper end thereof clears the lower edge of the depending flanges. Ill, formed on the inwardly extended portion 6. The 5 spectacle case may now be lifted from the pocket without interference with the body portion.
Stamped from the body portion 5, is a substantially long tongue II which is adapted to be positioned over the upper edge of the pocket in 1 which the case is placed, gripping the edge of the pocket and holding the body portion against ac cidental displacement.
It might be further stated that a pen is indicated in the present showing at I 2, and a pencil 15 is indicated by the numeral l3. In order to remove either the pen or the pencil, it is only necessary to draw them through the clips which frictionally engage them.
From the foregoing it will be seen that when 20 a spectacle case is positioned within the pocket so that the upper end thereof engages under the inwardly extended portion 6, the spectacle case will be held in the pocket against displacement, should the person carrying the spectacles, lean 5 over or move his body in such a way as to cause the spectacle case to slide from his pocket, under ordinary conditions.
It will be further seen that articles such as driverslicense cards or the like may be conven- 30 iently carried by inserting them between the tongue II and cloth of the pocket in which the device is positioned.
In view of the foregoing it is believed that a further detail disclosure as to the operation of 35 the device is unnecessary.
What is claimed is:
A spectacle case holder for pocket use, comprising a body portion formed of a length of sheet metal material, one end of the length of sheet metal material being extended at right angles, the free edge of the right angled portion being extended downwardly, the downwardly extended portion of the right angled portion cooperating with the body portion in gripping a spectacle case therebetween, the intermediate portion of the 45 downwardly extended portion of said flange being cut-away providing a finger opening to permit the spectacle case held within the device to be pushed from the holder, and a tongue stamped from the body portion and adapted to be fitted over the upper edge of a pocket, securing the body portion within the pocket of the user.
