The present invention, which .is a division of my application, Serial No. 30,374, filed July 8, 1935, relates to road guards. For a complete understanding of the invention, reference is made 5 to the following description, the accompanying drawing and the appended. claims.

Figure 2 is a section on line II- II of Figure 1. Referring more particularly to the drawing, a plurality of posts TM suitably anchored in the ground serve as the main support for the guard.

I claim: l 1. A road guard including the combination of a post, a piece of flat spring metal formed into a series of successively reversed loops and with a straight portion bridging said loops, certain of 10 said loops being mounted by said post and said straight portion being parallel thereto and spaced therefrom by said loops, and a guard rail extending transversely past said post and mounted by said straight portion of said piece.
