4 Claims.
This invention relates to kinesitherapy, and especially to a kinesitherapydevice by which the users epidermis can be showered, rubbed, depressed and lifted or pulled by suction; so the device may properly be termed a lcombined liquid applicator and kinesitherapy device.
One object of the invention is to provide a `device vof this character that is useful and bene- Afi'cial for any'individual in taking a private bath, and "which can be used by such individual forV applying wateror other liquid to every part of his'or her epidermis, including that part between l the shoulders which is impossible for some persons to reach with their hands, and which can be used on,v such parts for applying friction, pressure and suction, either simultaneously `with the wetting or bathing, or alternatelyv therewith, thus utilizing the applied liquid for an air-seal about the margin of each suction-cup, so'as to render the action of the suction cups relatively easy and effective in their treatment of the epidermis.
Another object is to provide a device of this character that is useful for operatives at public baths, and for use of surgeons or,A physicians in the treatment of such diseases as neuritis, rheu` matism, improper circulation of the blood, etc., by drawing blood' to the surface, thus toning the skin and'activating the internal organs for assisting prpper eliminatiomalso to assist in dissolving vthe fatty tissues for relief of obesity and over-weight.
A further object of this inventionis to provide, in a unitary structure, vonelor more groups `of flexiblev and resilient suction cups on an elongated body having a handle at each end, so the I which is formed of two pieces of rsheet-material 5o=rfsecured together at theiredges or\ margins, lone ofg-these sheets'beingrhighly flexible and col,- lapsible,while the other sheet is'non-collapsible and only 'slightly' flexible and vhas a group of friction-cups mounted thereon and conformable to 'fcurvatu'res-of apersons body while remaining (Cl. 12S-65) in approximately.` fixed relation, to avoid'being unduly tilted, so as to keep their entire marginal parts in Contact with the epidermis While being moved thereupon from place to place.
Another object is to provide the handle-member with a group of suction cups on a substantially plane and infiexible side, opposite tothe side on which the friction-cups are disposed, so
the user canalternately and very quickly apply friction and suction to the epidermis while the latter is moist or Wet from using the applicator.v

A main body or handle-member is formed of two pieces of rigid material which may be metal, hard rubber, Bakelite or molded plastic composition, the lower part lll being a pan or pan-like member, and the upper part il being an open frame having an end-extension lla that combines with the similar end-extension lila to form a hollow handle; the parts lll and ma being united with the parts il and Ila, by screws, rivets or other appropriate means, to form'the unitthat is herein known asthe hollow handle-member, the part il formingk an inwardly extending iiange or retaining element around an opening i2 that extends the greater part of the distances along and across the parts l0 vand, Il.
