What I claim and desire to secure byLetters Patent is:
1. An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of alternately impervious and transmitting strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen, said im-. pervious strips being disposed in an oblique position in relation tothe peripheral surface of said outer screen.
2. An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source supported by said base, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of alternately impervious and transmitting strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen, said impervious strips being disposed in an oblique position in relation to the peripheral surface of said outer screen.
3. An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the
peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips separated by intermediate clear spaces, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of alternately impervious and transmitting strips extending substantially in the axial direction ofsaid outer screen, said impervious strips being disposed in an oblique position in relation to the peripheral surface of said outer screen.

An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips, propeller means at the top of the inner screen for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of alternately impervious and transmitting strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen, said impervious strips being disposed in an oblique position in relation to the peripheral surface of said outer screen.

An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of impervious strips separated by slots, said impervious strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen and being disposed in an oblique position in relation to the peripheral surface of said outer screen.

An apparatus for producing light of variable color eifects, comprising a base, a light source supported by said base, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a pill rality of colored, light transmitting strips, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of alternately impervious and transmitting strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen, said impervious strips being disposed in an oblique position in,
relation to the peripheral surface of said outer screen, a lid closing the outer stationary screen at the top thereof and comprising impervious and transmitting portions.
7. In anapparatus as claimed in claim 6 the additional feature that said lid closing the outer stationary screen at the top thereof consists of a fine-meshed net.

An apparatus for producing light of variable color effects, comprising a base, a light source, a substantially cylindrical inner screen rotatably mounted around said light source, the peripheral surface of said inner screen being composed of a plurality of colored, light transmitting strips, means for rotating said inner screen under the action of an ascending air current produced by said light source, a stationary, substantially cylindrical outer screen mounted on said base round the outside of the inner screen and composed of a plurality of impervious strips separated by slots, said impervious strips extending substantially in the axial direction of said outer screen and being disposed in an oblique position with their leading longitudinal edges, as seen in the direction of movement of the inner screen, situated radially within the trailing longitudinal edges of said impervious strips.
