A gas burner comprising a feed pipe, the burner end of which is upwardly directed, a plate secured to said upwardly directed end, an upwardly directed circular flange on said plate spaced outwardly from said end, and a cap member in screw-threaded union with said upwardly directed end, said cap member having a downwardly directed circular flange to cooperate with the flange on the plate in defining a gas outlet opening between said flanges, and said cap member extending laterally beyond said downwardly directed flange to direct liquids spilled on said burner away from the gas outlet opening, said cap extending continuously and imperviously about the end of said feed pipe from the edges of the flange defining said opening.
3. A gas burner comprising a feed pipe, the I burner end of which is upwardly directed and .outlet opening between said flanges, and said cap member extending laterally beyond said downwardly directed flange to direct liquids spilled on said burner away from the gas outlet opening,
