Description

A. M. WHITE. Dental Vuloanizing Flask.
No. 217.'253.' Pa tented July 8,1879.
N'PETERS, PHDTO-UTHOGRAPHER, WASHINGTON D C UNITED STATESPATENT OFFICE.
ALBERT M. WHITE, OF WATERBURY, GONNEOTIOUT.
IMPROVEMENT IN DENTAL VULCANlZlNG-FLASKS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 217,253, dated July 8, 1879; application filed October 31, 1878.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT M. WHITE, of Waterbury, New Haven county, State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Dental Vulcanizing-Flasks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
My invention has for its object the avoidance of all springing of the plate or the throwing of the teeth out of shape during the vulcanizing process, which object is secured by the several parts of the flask being made in a true circle, and the several sections" being so constructed that one shall lap over the other at the several joints and bear equally on all portions of the circumference.
My invention further consists in constructing the flask with the lugs or pillars inside of said flask, and making the lugs or pillars continuous through the depth of each section of the flask, by which construction the lugs or pillars have an equal bearing with the edge of the ring, thus avoiding any strain of the flask or the work within it when closed by the bolts, said; bolts passing through the center of the lugs or pillars.
My invention further consists in the guiding-pin, and the recess for the said pin being within one or more of the lugs or pillars, the bolts for closing the flask passing through the center of the guide-pin, lugs, or pillars.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side View when closed. Fig. 2 is a top View. Fig. 3 is a side view of the several sections of theflask. B is the cap; B, center section; B, bottom section; F F, the projections to lap or flt into f f. Fig. 4 is a bottom view,
showing the position of the lugs or pillars by the dotted lines h h h, and showing the guidepmc.
Fig. a a a. is the head of the bolts; d d d, shank; a a a, nuts; b b b and c c c, vents; e, guide-pin; c, recess for said pin to enter.
In Fig. 2 the irregular dotted line shows operation of my improved dental flask, so that one skilled can make and use it, what I claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'
1. A dental flask with the sections thereof made to lap or fit into each other throughout their periphery, in combination with the lugs or pillars inside of said flask, substantially as shown and described.
2. The lugs or pillars placed inside of the flask, for the purpose as set forth in the above description and specification.
3. The hollow guide pin, in combination with the recess inside of said lugs or pillars, substantially as shown and described.
Intestimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 25th day of October, 1878.-
ALBERT M. WHlTE.
Witnesses:
