1 Claim.
This invention to a new and useful improvement in display forms whereby an article or a series of articles such as bottles may be efiectively displayed and closely associated insuch display with advertising matter related-thereto.
An object of the invention is to provide a display form of the utmost simplicity so that the cost of production and ease of use may be reduced to a minimum.
Further and more specific object, features, and advantages will more clearly appear from a consideration of the specification hereinafter when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which form part of the specification and which illustrate a present preferred form of the invention.
Briefly considered the general nature of the invention includes a single strip or sheet of material such as cardboard which is folded at suitable intervals to provide two bottom portions which meet and are suitably fastened together, a back wall portion and a sloping or inclined front wall portion, from which an advertising or display area is cut out in the form of a flap which is lifted up and turned back and has on its front surface when thus disposed suitable advertising matter. The flap is held in its upper position by the articles being displayed which may be bottles disposed in the opening formed by the cut-out. portion and resting on the bottom wall portions. The advertising matter is disposed on the flap in such a manner as to be disposed above the top of the articles such as bottles.
As shown in the drawings,
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the display form with the displayed articles shown disposed therein by dotted lines;
Fig. 2 is a front elevation thereof;
Fig. 3 is a vertical cross section through the device; and
Fig. 4 is a developed plan of the sheet from which the form is made.
The drawings, which illustrate a preferred present form which the invention may assume indicate a sheet having suitable lines of fold thereon shown by dotted lines in Fig. 4, and having end portions l and II forming the bottom wall.
These end portions I0 and II may be glued together by means of a glued area II or may be provided with suitable interlocking means (not shown) of any desired type.
Another portion l2 forms a back wall portion, 5 and a still further portion [3 forms a sloping front wall portion disposed between the bottom wall .and the back wall. From this sloping front wall portion I 3 a flap I4 is cut leaving a gap or openin l5 into which the articles to be displayed, such as bottles I 6, are disposed. The tops of the bottles are of such height that the upper portion of the flap I 4, held up in the position shown in Fig. 3 by the articles I6, is above the tops of the articles or bottles and may and does contain advertising material w 'ch can thereby be clearly seen instantly by anyone who looks at the articles beingdisplayed.
' Thus it will be easily perceived that the device is a simple single sheet with one cut-out portion acting as a flap to bear advertising matter and producing a gap in which the displayed articles may be disposed in intimate relation to the matter advertising the same. The cost of production will thereby be reduced to a minimum and the ease of handling and operating the device will be a maximum and the relation between the displayed articles and the advertising matter is both intimate and most effective.
While the invention has been described in detail and with respect to a present preferred form which the invention may assume, it is not to be limited to such details and forms since the invention may be changed and modified without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention in its broadest aspects. Hence it is desired to cover any and all forms and modifications of the invention which may come within the language or scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is:
A display form which comprises a single sheet of material folded to provide a bottom wall, a back wall, and a sloping front wall portion, a flap cut from the front wall and pivoted thereto to be disposed in an upward position back of articles disposed in the gap or opening formed by the cut-out.
