3 Claims.

The invention relates to powder-puffs.

The object of the invention is to provide an improved powder-puff which comprises a resilient pad and a series of covers or wrappers formed of soft or flexible material adapted for applying or rubbing powder on the skin, such as suitable paper, each wrapper, when it becomes soiled or worn being tearable so it can be readily removed to expose a fresh wrapper for use.

Other objects of the invention will appear from the detail description.

The invention consists in the several novel features which are hereinafter set forth and are more particularly defined by claims at the conclusion hereof.

In the drawing: Fig. 1 a perspective of a powder-puff embodyingthe invention. Fig. 2 is a perspective illustrating the central pad and the manner of assembling sheets of paper to form the wrappers around the pad. Fig. 3 is a perspective of the strip used to secure the paper sheet s around the pad. Fig. 4 is a section of the assembled pad.

The invention is exemplified in a powder-puff comprising a circular pad ID of soft and resilient 5 material, such as sponge rubber and of sufficient thickness to be yieldable for application of the powder to the skin. A series of wrappers are applied, one over another, to the pad, and are adapted to be torn off singly to successively expose or make the wrappers available for use.

Each wrapper is formed of approximately circular sheets of paper II and I2, which are adapted for the application and distribution of powder and a sealing strip M. The marginal portions of each of the sheets ll and [2 are folded transversely around the circumferential lower and upper corners of the pad, as at l3, and their edges meet approximately at the transverse center of the pad. After each pair of sheets H and I2 is thus folded around the pad, the sealing strip M of paper with an adhesive along the edges of its inner face, is lapped over and secured across and to the outer faces of the adjacent margins of the pair of sheets. The strip [4 thus secures the two sheets around the pad and forms a wrapper which completely encloses the pad. One end l5 of the strip I4 is left loose to leave a portion which can be gripped by the user to start a tear of the tape or the wrapper when it has become worn or soiled. A series of similar wrappers, each formed of a pair of sheets II and I2 and a strip M, are successively placed around the previously applied wrappers for the purpose of providing a series 5 of successively usable wrappers.

When the outermost wrapper thereon has become soiled or worn, the user will grasp the loose tongue l5 and' tear the strip from the outermost cover so that the sheets forming the outer cover can be torn away or removed to expose the next wrapper. In this manner the puff provides a series of wrappers for powder distribution or application which can be successively used.

The invention exemplifies a powder-puff with a series of wrappers or enclosures, each of which is adapted to be used until it has become soiled or worn and then torn ofi to render the next wrapper or enclosure available for use. If desired, the wrappers may be impregnated with 20 powder.

The invention is not to be understood as restricted to the details set forth, since these may be modified within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit and 13 scope of the invention.

Having thus described the invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A powder-puff comprising a resilient pad Jill and a series of wrappers around and enclosing the pad, each wrapper being adapted to be torn off after use to expose the succeeding wrapper for use.

2. A powder-puff comprising a resilient pad I35 and a series of paper wrappers around and enclosing the pad, each wrapper being adapted to be torn off after use to expose the succeeding wrapper for use.

3. A powder-pufi comprising a resilient pad 5;) and a series of wrappers around and enclosing the pad, each wrapper being adapted to be torn off after use to expose the succeeding wrapper for use, and comprising sheets of paper and a strip for securing the sheets of each wrapper 45 together.
