IMPROVEMENT` IN NUT-CRACKERS.

To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, C.F.RITOHEL, ofBridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in Nut-Crackers; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, andexact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specication, and represent, in-

This invention relates to an improvement in that class of nut-crackers which are made for table use; and the invention consists in the construction hereinafter described, and more particularly recited in the claim.
A and B are the two jaws, each extended to form handles C, in the usual manner for this class of crackers.
Instead of the usual close link to connect the j hinged end of the jaws, one link, D, is placed Between the two jaws the links are bent outward, so as to form a large opening, E, at the end, into the space between the jaws. The opening E enables the placing of the nut so that the force ot' the jaws may be applied very near the fnlcrum or pivots, and the links serve CHARLES FRANCIS RITCHEL.
