HYPODERMI C SYRINGE HOLDER Filed Feb. '7, 1938 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 Fatentecl Mar. 21, 1939 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFECE 1 Claim.
This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in means for supporting conveniently the parts of hypodermic syringes.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a holder which is of simple construction, sanitary, and convenient for use.
Other important objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 represents a top plan view of the demm.
Figure 2 is a top plan View with the cover removed.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal sectional view on line 3-3 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a side elevational View of the dev1ce.
Figure 5 is a cross sectional view.
Figure 6 is a top plan view of a modified form of the invention with the cover removed.
Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 represents the base plate from which rises two rows of upstanding tubes 5, each tube provided with vertically extending slots 1 extending from a point adjacent its lower end and opening through the upper end thereof. These tubes 6 are intended to receive the coupling portion 8 of hypodermic needles and the slots 1 are intended to permit the needle members 9 to protrude therethrough, it being observed in Figure 2 that the tubes are slightly offset longitudinally of the base so that the needles 9 can interlap as suggested in Figure 2'.
It is preferable that a small boss or riser can be located on the base 5 within the lower portion of each of the tubes 5 to offer support for the lowermost needle.
A U-shaped handle H is provided at each end of the base 5 and over these handles and upon the base 5 is disposed the cover I2 which cover is provided, as shown in Figure 1, with a longitudinally extending grooveway l2a in which one or two hypodermic syringe barrels 13 can be disposed as suggested in Figure 4.
A modification of the invention is shown in Figure 6, wherein reference character 5a. represents the base and reference character Ila, the handles. The same type of cover l2 may be employed, but instead of the tubes 6, hollow boxlike structures 6a extend upwardly from the base 5a in a pair of rows and. the opposed sides of the rows each has its box-like structure 611 slit vertically with the sections of the slit sides disposed outwardly in converging relation as shown in Figure 6 and terminating in spaced relation so as to define a slotway through which needles can be disposed in substantially the same manner as shown in Figure 2 in regard to the slotted tubes 6.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention inspecific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention what is claimed as new is:
