(Cl. 25-121) The invention relates to pan molds for concrete forms and more especially to molds for precast wall facings.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a mold of this character, wherein theuseuthereof for precasting wall facings eliminates the use of temporary or knock-down forms in the erection of walls or the like, the mold being of novel construction and enables the precasting of blocks having facial conguration either smooth or ornamented as may be required.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a mold of this character, wherein there is involved a receiving pan for a filler mold and this pan accommodates a separator so that concrete or composite plastic material can be molded into a determined shape and size in conformity to the character of work required in the building `of a Wall or the like which by erection thereof avoids the necessity of the use of temporary or knockdown forms commonly employed.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a mold of this character, which is eX- tremely simple in construction, thoroughly reliable .and eicient in operation, enabling the precasting of blocks for use in wall construction or the like and giving thereto the size and design or ornamentation required, and inexpensive to manufacture.
With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which disclose the preferred embodiment of the invention and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.

Referring to the drawings in detail, particularly Figures l to 8 inclusive, the mold constituting the present invention in its preferred form comprises a material receiving pan A preferably of elongated formation having a flat bottom I0, i0 opposed longer side walls II and I2, respectively, and opposed end walls I3 and I4, respectively, the walls iI and I3 being unitary with the bottom Iii and this pan is preferably made from sheet metal while the walls I2 and I4 each is 15 hinged at I5 for the opening and closing thereof, the hinges being attached exteriorly to the bottom IFJ and the said walls I2 and I4, respectively.
Adapted to be removably held within the pan 20 A superimposed upon its bottom Ill is a molding or iiller section I6 which in its make-up may be ornamented or smooth flat faced, the ornamentation being either in cameo or intaglio effect orboth. When the molding or ller section I6 is 25 within the pan A, the cementitious or concrete material in plastic condition can be poured into the pan A for the molding thereof into block form. A precast block thus molded is indicated at B having a base and end ange I'I and I8, 30 respectively. The base flange has provided therein in any suitable manner openings I9 for accommodating anchoring Wires while the body portion has set therein the anchoring members enabling the tying of the blocks B together 35 in the erection of a wall or the like.
The wall I2 of the pan A at one end is formed with a keeper ear 2l detachably engagedby a fastener 22 so that this wall I2 may be fastened in Yclosed position while the wall I4 at opposite 40 ends is formed with the keeper ears 23, these being engageable with fasteners 24Vfor holding the said wall It in a closedposition.
Separably arranged transversely of the pan A is a separator blade or plate 25 adapted to bridge 45 `the molding or ller section I6 when within this material poured within the pan into several pre-v 55 cast blocks, one being indicated at B in Figure 1 of the drawings.
In Figure 9 of the drawings there is shown a slight modication of molding or filler section which is indicated at 28 and is provided with an ornamental area 29 having the slip-over flanges 30 for fitting opposed walls of the pan A and in this manner the precast blocks will have frontal face configuration according to the selected ornamentation required.
In Figure 10 of the drawings there is shown a slight modification of separator, wherein the blade or plate 3|' carries at its top edge next to opposite ends thereof the clamps 32, these being the equivalent of the brackets 26 hereinbefore set forth and such clamps 32 spread beyond opposite side faces of the plate or blade 3l while the brackets 26 extend only beyond one side face of the blade or plate 25.
By the use of the precast blocks B temporary or knock-down forms in the erection of a wall or the like are not required, the same being entirely eliminated.
What is claimed is: v
l. A mold of the character described comprising a pan-like body having one separately swinging side and one separately swinging end, for opening and closing movements, a pattern unit removably held within said body, a wall removably tting the said body and pattern unit for dividing the body into separated compartments, saddling brackets on said wall for engaging the body at opposite sides thereof and holding the swingable side in closed position, and means carried by the said brackets for the clamping thereof to the body.
2. A mold of the character described comprising a pan-like body having one separately swinging side and one separately swinging end, for opening and closing movements, a pattern unit removably held within said body, a wall removably tting the said body and pattern unit for dividing the body into separated compartments, saddling brackets on said wall for engaging the body at opposite sides thereof and holding the swingable side in closed position, means carried by the said brackets for the clamping thereof to the body, and means for separably joining the swingable side and end to each other when in closed position.
