Claims. (01. 2-278) This invention relates to textile trimming mais not necessary or essential to the invention, but
terial. that the loops A can be held in suitable spaced More particularly stated, the invention relates relation by the row of stitches Hi. to trimming material especially designed and In Fig. 2 there is also shown at the junction of 5 p d for trimming the edges of Curtains, the loops A and B, astrand 2| of yarn. which may 5 though it should be understood that the material b ured in position in any desired manner, as is not limited to such use. by knitting.
The inven io as for t Object to provide an From the above description and from the illusattractive trimming of the character described, tration i th drawing it will be evident that a so designed that it can be economically and exgiven number of loops 3 t one edge of t 10 pedltloilsly manufactured terial forms a shorter longitudinal length of ma- Further oblects of the invention will appear terial than the same number of loops A at the Om the following Specification taken in connec' other edge of the material since the loops A are tion with the drawing which forms a part of this spaced farther apart than the loops B. This gt f p arlld in.whic? th t gives a very attractive ripple effect to the edge of 15 a D 0 a e ma er the trimming material that is particularly advang of the elements bemg Shown m exploded tageous when the material is used as a trimming posi ion;

. vention has been part1cularly shown and de- 5i i Z 2%;s gigg gfiifii g gfi scribed, it will be understood that the invention In form of the inventior'l illustraied in is capable of modification and that changes in the drawing the main body of the m aterial is the construction and in the arrangement of the formed by a plurality of oppositely extending gig ggi gggg fig g f f gig agfi 25 loops A and These loops may be made m any tion as ex ressed in the followin claims desired manner, but as illustrated they are [311 t I g formed by bending or folding parallel strands of 1 g i g gaterial for the edges of fabrics yarn l6 and II into zigzag form. A single strand Of yarn or as many strands as desired may be sa1d trimming material consisting of a plurality 30 combined to form the 10mm I of loops of yarn disposed side by side, successive From the illustration in Figs. 1 and 2, it will be extendmg P du'ectms the loops noted that the loops B at one edge of the mate at one edge of the trimming material being disrial are disposed close together or Substantially posed side by side in close relation to each other, in abutting relation, whereas the loops A at the the t l at the heredge being disposed other edge of the material are disposed farther slde by slde m spaced relatmn to each other so apart than the loops B, or in spaced relation. that the length formed by given number of After the zigzag folds or bends have been loops at one edge is greater than the length at formed in the manner above described, the loops the other edge formed by the Same number of 40 at the two edges of the fabric are secured in fixed loops a means i one edge for securing the 40 relation with respect to each other in any suitable loops In Contact Wtth each other and means manner, as by stitching. Three rows: of stitches, the other edge for Securing the loops in spaced indicated at l2, l3 and I4, are shown at the upper relation at 5am latter edgeedge of the fabric and in order to enhance the ap- Textile ttimminfg material comprising a pearance of the edge strands of yam are strip of material having intermediate the edges 45 cured in position, as by knitting. thereof a plurality of transverse lengths of yarn,
At the. other edge of the fabric the loops A are disposed- Side y Side, ns a One Of the edges held in spaced relation by a row I5 of stitches the material engaging and Connecting together and this edge of the fabric is further ornamented the ends 0f Said lengths of ya n Co tact with by means of a looped strand of yarn 20 having. each other at Said edge, the lengths e g oose 50 oppositely extending loops C and D. The loops and unconnected between the edges of the mate- D are positioned intermediate the loops A of a diver g o One edge of the Strip t0 the the body of the trimming material and assist in other edge thereof, and means at said latter edge holding these loops in spaced relation, although engaging and retaining the lengths of yarn in it should be understood that the border of loops spaced relation, said transverse lengths being 55 formedby bending a length of yarn back and forth in zigzag folds.
3. Textile trimming material comprising a strip of material having the body portion intermediate the edges of the strip formed of a plurality of oppositely extending loops of yarn disposed side by side, the loops at one edge being disposed closer together than the loops at the other edge of the strip, a looped border at the edge of the strip having the loops disposed farther apart, the loops of the border being disposed between the loops at that edge of the strip to hold the loops at that edge in spaced relation, and means for securing the loops at the other edge of the strip together.
4. Textile trimming material comprising a strip of material having intermediate the edges thereof a plurality of transverse lengths of yarn, disposed side by side, means at one of the edges of the material engaging and holding together the ends of said lengths of yarn in contact with each other, the lengths being loose and unconnected between the edges of the material, diverging from one edge of the strip to the other edge thereof, and means at the latter edge of the material engaging and retaining said lengths of yarn in spaced relation at said edge.
5. Textile trimming material comprising a strip of material having intermediate the edges thereof a plurality of transverse lengths of yarn disposed side by side, the ends of the lengths of yarn at one edge of the material being disposed in closer relationship to each other than the ends of the lengths of yarn at the other edge of the material, the lengths being loose and unconnected between the edges of the material, diverging from one edge of the strip to the other edge thereof, and means adjacent each edge of the strip for maintaining the lengths of yarn in the relations set forth.
