IMPROVEMENT IN NECK-YOKE STRAPS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 212,806, dated March 4, 1879 application filed February 4, 1879.

A represents a metal frame, consisting of side strips, a, rounded ends I), and cross-piece 0, the same being cast of brass or other metal capable of being cast and afterward of being bent.

The yoke has two contiguous annular re-- cesses, cl, adapted to receive the side pieces, a, of the frame, which, after being introduced into said recesses, are bent round so as to nearly till the same, bringing the opposite ends of the frame parallel to each other, as shown in Fig. 2.

Leather strips 0 are now introduced. between the ends of the frame, clamped between the latter, and secured by bolts or rivets 1', each strip of leather being perforated to form a socket, y, for the end of the pole.

The strap thus constructed is light in weight,

is easily cast Without the use of cores, gripes the yoke so that it cannot be detached without breaking one or the other, and affords the requisite rigid supporting-frame for the socketed leather piece 0, while the attachment 'to the yoke is such that the latter may turn,

if necessary, but any lateral motion is impossible.

I claim v The combination of the yoke having two annular recesses, d, and the castmetal frame A, having side pieces, a, bent and fitting said recesses, and clamping the socketed leather strips 0 c, as set forth.
