Claims.
This invention relates to store iixtures and the object of the invention is to provide an arrangement whereby a store xture may be built up in a series of sections to which different sections may be added or taken away as desired.
Another object of the invention is to provide a store lixture of the cabinet type having a series of sections connected together by a molding to which diierent parts may be anchored.
1() Another object of the invention is tol provide a store iixture provided with sliding doors and having ways for the doors anchored to the molding, the arrangement being such that the doors may be readily positioned in or removed from the ways.
A further object of the invention is to provide a store xture comprising a cabinet combined with a novel means for securing the molding in place.
0 These objects and the several novel features of the invention are hereinafter more fully described and claimed and the preferred form of construction by which these objects are attained is shown in the accompanying drawings in which Fig. l is a perspective View of a store fixture embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is an enlarged section taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
Fig, 3 is an enlarged section taken on line 3 3 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged section taken on line 4 4 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 5 is a section through a dilerent type of Fig. 6 is an enlarged section taken on line 6 6 of Fig. 5.
Fig. 7 is an enlarged section taken at the lower left hand corner of Fig. 5.
Fig. 8 is an enlarged section taken at the lower right hand corner of Fig. 5.
The fixture comprises a base I having a rubber tile facing 2 on the forward face. Mounted on the base I is a horizontal frame member 3 and a g5 rear wall member 4 is provided having spaced frame members 5 connecting the horizontal member 3 with the upper horizontal member 6. The horizontal frame member 'I of the upper fixture section is positioned on the member 6 and a double guide member 8 is secured to the member 'I by the screw 9 shown more particularly in Fig. 5. This double guide member is provided with a rib I6 and the member 6 is cut out at II to iit about this rib. A similar double guide member I2 is provided on the member 3 and is secured in place by the screw I3 and a iinish strip I4 is secured to the edge of the member 3 while a filler strip I 5 is positioned between the member I4 and the double channel member I2. As shown in Figs. 2 and 7, a series of rollers I6 are provided 5 in the lower double channel member and are connected by side plates I'I.
The door panels are inserted by inserting the rear panel I8 shown in Fig. 2 up into` the double channel 8 and then fitting the lower edge of the I0 panel I8 into the channel I2 so that the door panel rests on the rollers I6. The other panel I9 shown in Fig. 4 is inserted in position in the same manner. These panels I8 and I9, as shown in Fig. 1, may be provided with hand grips 29 I5 so that the panels may be moved longitudinally in the guide members. The outer edge of the horizontal member I extends beyond the edge of the member 6 and a trim member 2I is secured to this edge by the screw 22 shown in Figs. 20 2 and 4. A surface member 23 is` positioned on the upper face of the member 1 and is provided with an upturned ange 24 at a distance from the edge. A double channel member 25 is secured to. the member l by the screw 26 and engages 25 l against the flange 24. This double channel member 25 is also provided with rollers I6 which are connected by side plates I1 and the sliding panels 21 and 28 are mounted on the rollers I6 in the double channel member 25 as shown more 30 particularly in Fig. 4. A horizontal partition 29 is provided above the member I and a double channel member 30 is secured to the lower face of the partition 29 as shown in Figs. 2 and 3 by means of the screw 3I. A wide metal molding 35 member 32 is provided with a way 33 having un.- dercut edges into which the rib 34 of the double channel member 36 lits and this rib 34 holds the molding member 32 in position against the outer edge of the partition 29. 40
This same construction is duplicated at the top of the store xture in which a similar channel is attached to the horizontal top 35 and the molding 32 is secured in place in the manner shown in Fig. 3. On the upper side of the member 35 45 a series of short key members 36 are fitted into the channel 31 of the molding and the screws 38 extend through these key members 36 to hold them in place and thus hold the molding in place. Where an additional section is to be mounted 50 thereabove, a double channel member 39 is provided having a rib fitting into the channel 3'I in the molding member 32 as sho-wn in Fig. 2 and the sliding panels are tted into the upper and lower double channel members as hereinbefore 55 described. Where the ends of the molding 32 come together between the'sections of the xture a connecting member 40 is provided which, as shown in Figs. 1 and 3, is secured to the molding 32 by the screws 4|. This covers the ends of the molding and provides a neat appearance as Will be understood from Fig. 1. The sliding panels may be of glass or laminated Wood to slide in the double channels and are provided with hand holds as shown for moving the panels horizontally.
In the form shown in Fig. 5, a base 42 is provided having a, rubber tile facing 43 on the exterior. A bottom 44 is provided for this cabinet which is also provided with glass walls 45 and a glass top 46. In this form, the double channels 41 and 48 are secured in position and the glass panels 49 and 50 are slidably mounted in these channels to roll on the rollers I6 provided in the lower channels.
In this case, the sliding panels 49 and 50 are provided at the back of the cabinet and the trim molding 32 is secured to the member 44 by the keys 36 hereinbefore described which are secured to the member 44 and engage in the undercut channels 33 and 3l of the molding, as shown in Fig. 8. 'Ihe glass Wall 45, shown in Fig. 8, is Y provided in the pad strip 52 resting on the keys 36 and also supported by the wood strip 53. The molding member 32 may also be provided with a packing strip 54 engaging the front face of the glass. The rear panels 49 and 5t are arranged to ride in the double channels and the double channel 55 at the end is provided With rubber strips 56 against which the glass panels may strike when moved to the closed or extreme open position. By this arrangement it will be seen that different types of fixtures may be readily fabricated by the use of the'double channels and molding to provide the best type of xture for the place where it is to be used.
From the foregoing description it becomes evident that the device is very simple and eicient in operation, provides a combination from which various structures may be fabricated and provides a device which accomplishes the objects described.
