This invention relates t a sanitary band adapted to be placed between the forehead of thev wearer and the elastic border of a hair net.

The object of this invention is to provide a sanitary band for use in beauty parlors that canl be placed against the forehead of a customer to protect the forehead from the imprint of the elastic border of a hair net used by the operator to hold the customers hair in position during l0 drying and after curling. l l

Another object of the-invention is to produce the band of such inexpensive material that it may be discarded after each use, so that each cust-omer will have the advantages of the sanitary l5 precautions accompanying the use of the band.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the drawing and the description to follow.

Referring more particularly to the drawing wherein like reference characters designate like or corresponding parts in the different views, I0 is the sanitary band preferably composed of several superposed strips or layers of thin tissue 40 paper or the like as best shown in Figure 2.

The band I0 iszfolded lengthwise to form the two portions I I and I2. The wider portion II is adapted to rest against the forehead of the wearer when in use as shown in Figure 1.

A hair net I3, having an elastic strip I4 secured toits edge, is adapted to fit in the fold and hold the band I0 in position upon the head of the user-as shown in Figure 2.

Figures 5, 6 and 7 show a modified form ofband, the band I 5 in the modification being folded to forrn the portions I6 and I1. 'I'he portions I6 and I'I are provided with tongues I8 and I9 .formed by cutting the material on three sides and bending the intermediate material outwardly of the body of the band to engage portions of the hair net to prevent it from slipping out of position on the band I5.

The portions I2 and I1 are folded upward to prevent the bands I0 and I5 from slipping up under the hair net I3 and exposing the forehead of the wearer to the pressure of the elastic I4 and thereby causing an imprint on the forehead of the wearer.

It is to be understood that only the preferred embodiment of the invention has been shown, the right being reserved to make such changes` and modifications as will not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.

1. A removable band for hair nets, comprising a strip of laminated material folded lengthwise, cut-out portions in the opposite sides of the fold forming tongues, and said tongues serving to hold a hair net in position in the fold of said band.

2. A sanitary band for hair nets comprising a strip of laminated material folded lengthwise, cut-out portions in the opposite sides of the fold forming tongues, said tongues being turned inwardly toward each other, and adapted to cooperate to hold the hair net in position in said fold.

3. A removable sanitary protector for hair nets comprising a strip of material folded lengthwise and adapted to receive the elastic band of the hair net in said fold, and cut-out portions in the opposite sides of said strip forming tongues, said tongues projecting inwardly and downwardly to cooperate with the fold to retain the elastic band therein, said strip adapted to rest against the forehead of the user to protect it from the pressure of the elastic band.
