The flange 5 can be eliminated by having a thicker stem portion I, the top of the cap having its ;edge bounded by the periphery of the stem portion I. This would be suitable for caps for bottles.

1; A cap or nozzle for use'on a container comprising a body part adapted to be fitted to a container, 'a slidable shutter-like closure member slidable transversely through the-body part, an aperture in said slidabl'eflmember between its ends normallycovered by the top of the said body part, an opening in the top of thelbody part with which the aperture in the slidable member is brought into and out of registration by to and fro sliding movement of said slidable member; a pair ofabutmentson said slidable member, one of which is near the aperture in' the slidable part, a slidable closure member accommodated in said body part and having a projecting part one side of the body part adapted to be engaged for pushing the slidable closure member to the open position, co-operating abutments on said slidable closure member and the body part adapted to abut against each other to limit the opening sliding movement of the slidable closure member, an upstanding part on the upper face of said slidable member slidable in the said opening in the body part, an extrusion orifice in said slidable member, said upstanding part and said opening having opposed edges normally contacting above said orifice to close the orifice.

A cap or nozzle for use on a container comprising a body part in the form of a tubular stem part adapted to be attached to the neck of the container, a head formed at the upper end of said stem, an opening cut into said head and a slot formed diametrically or transversely horizontally through the body part in continuity with said opening, a slide slidably accommodated in said slot and opening, a thickened part on said slide projecting upwardly in said opening, the upper face of said thickened part being formed in continuity with the upper surface of said head, said thickened part normally filling said opening, an abutment on the upper surface of said slide adjacent to the end remote from the thickened part, an abutment in said head adapted to be engaged by the before-mentioned abutment to limit the sliding movement of the slide, an opening in said slide between said thickened part and said abutment, and a washer like member fitted in the stem and adapted to be pressed against the base of the slide by the rim of the neck of the container.

A cap or nozzle for use on a container comprising a body part in the form of a tubular stem part adapted to be attached to the neck of the container, a flange like head formed at the upper end of said stem, an opening out into said head and a slot formed diametrically or transversely horizontally through the junction of the said head and stem in continuity with said opening, a slide slidably accommodated in said slot and opening, a thickened part on said slide projecting upwardly in said opening, the upper face ofsaid thickened part being formed in continuity with the upper surface of said head,said thickened part normally filling said opening, an abutment on the upper surface of said slide adjacent to the end remote from the thickened part, an abutment on the lower face of said head adapted to be engaged by the before-mentioned abutment to limit the sliding movement of the slide, an opening in said slide between said thickened part and said abutment, and a washer like member fitted in the stern and adapted to be pressed against the base of the slide by the rim of the neck of the container.

A cap or nozzle for use on a container comprising a body part in the form of a tubular stem part adapted to be attached to theneck of the container, a head formed at the upper end of said stem, an opening cut into said head and a slot formed diametrically or transversely horizontally through the body part in continuity with said opening, a thickened part on said slide projecting upwardly in said opening, a slide slidably accommodated in said slot and opening, a thickened part on said slide projecting upwardly in said opening, the upper face of said thickened part being formed in continuity with the upper surface of said head, said thickened part normal- 1y filling said opening, an abutment on the upper surface of said slide adjacent to the end remote from the thickened part, an abutment on the upper surface of said slide adjacent the end remote from the thickened part, an abutment in said head adapted to be engaged by the beforementioned abutment to limit the sliding movement of the slide, an opening in said slide between said thickened part and said abutment, and a washer like member fitted in the stem and adapted to be pressed against the base of the slide by the rim of the neck of the container,
