lMPROVEMENT IN STEAM-GENERATORS.
application tiled try 12; 1977.
To all? whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, WM. FRANK llnowun, at the city, county, and State of New York, have invented some new ments in Steam-Generators; and 1 do hereby declare that the following isa description,
thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which i'orn'i apart of this '1'} represents a spiralpipc boiler inclosed within the furnace A. The shell or casing of this i'nruaee may be made of. cast or plate iron, and so constructed that it can be lincd with fire-clay or other refractory material. The furnacecanalso be constructed with a selt feeding cylinder, ll, therein. The top of the cylinder is provided with a cover, I). ,Said cylinder can be lined with refractory material to protcet itf'roni theheat. 'lhespace between the eylinder and outercasing is for the spiral holler and combusthii -chamber, whereby the heat derived from the fuel is brought in directeontaet with the boiler on its passage to the stack L.
A revolvi upon the hub II. F is a door to ash-pit.
I introduce a perforated pipe, a, into several coils in the top of the spiral boilertl. This inner pipe, u, is for the purpose of conducting the fluids from the exterior into the interior of the spiral boiler, and spraying it out therein, whereby said fluids are more easily vaporized than would be the case were they to be ins'trea int and useful implore-- ng grate is shown at. (.l, resting undivided Properponnections are made with the pipe (I and and induction-pipe I by means of a. nipple, o, uniouh, elbow .l, as shown, or by other similar devices.
The vaporized products pass off at the. bottom of the spiral boiler at .1 into the drum 1'),
after which it can be drawn oil through the cdnction-pipe r. This drum may beso sit-nated that it maybe surrounded by heatderived lroni the furnace to prevent condensat-ion.
The pipe 16 is fluids to a reset" pumped from and injected into the pipe 0 and coil (J.
\Yhat claim, and desire to secure by Lettors Patent, is- 1. The internal spraypipe u, for inducting' and spraying tluids'out oi and into til -T01) coils of boiler (f, in combination with the re maining coils of snidhoiler, which conductt'or eonductingthc condensed said fluids and expandcd products thereof downward through said mils, is made.
2. In combination with the spiral boiler U, proi'ided with a spraypipmu, within its top e0ils,-an exit-pipe, .r, and the steam-drum I), substantially as described.
.l; -In combination with the spiral boiler (f, provided with an internal spray-pipe, a, as specified, exit-pipe a, pipe T l. and reservoir, tbrthe purpose specified.
