A further object of the invention is to provide a button of the character set forth, together with detachable means therefor, that is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture and extremely eficient in use, operation and service.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accom# panying drawing and specifically pointed out in they appended olaims.`

In describing the invention i-n detail, reference will behad to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denotelike or corresponding parts throughout `theseveral views, and in which:

Figure 1 is a sectional view taken through one form of button and attaching means therefor, and showing the same secured to a garment.

Figure 2 is a sectional view taken at right angles to Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a front view thereof:

Figure 4 is a rear view of the inner part of the button.

Figure 11 is a sectional view taken through a one piece button and attaching means therefor constructed in accordance with the present invention.

Referring to the drawing in detail, and particularly to Figures 1 to 7 inclusive, it will be noted that the button of that form includes what is termedl an innerpart I in the shape of a disk, with an elongated recess 2 centrally disposed in the rear face thereof, and extending diamet-rically through the disk I is a bore 3 for a purpose which will be presently described.

The companion or outer part for the disk I is shown as being in the form of a substantially flat ring and is indicated by the reference numeral 4. The opening 5 of theouter part is centrally arranged therein, as best shown in Figure 5, and is 10 of a size to snugly fit and receive the inner part I, as best shown in Figures 1 and 2. A bore 6 eX- tends from. the outer end of the part 4 to the opening-5` thereof, and a closed bore 'l extends from the opening Sinto the part 4 directly oppo- `l l site the bore Ii` to register therewith and a recess 8 is provided on the inner face of the part 4, as best shown in Figure 5.

The garment securing means for the button includes an anchor link 9 which is shown as being 20 of rectangular formation, and is secured( to the garment by4 stitching or the like I 0. An attaching pin II such as shown in Figure 6 is employed for detachably securing' the button to the anchor link, as well as the respective parts together, and the pin is provided with a head I2 formed on the shank thereof, the head being in the form ofl a spring finger in the shape of a hook having an outwardly ilaredr end, as shown in Figure 6, and the opposite end of the pin terminate's in a penetratingipOnt.

In .attaching the button to a garment, it will be obvious that the anchor link 9 is permanently fixed to the garment, and is to be received in the recess 2 of the disk part I. The outer or ring part 3 4- is mounted on the disk part in a manner so that the bores of the parts are disposed in registration With each other. The pin is then inserted in the bores and through the opening of the link 9, with the spring finger or head I2 having its i0 outwardly ared portion mounted in the recess 8, consequently it will be seen that the parts are not only secured to the garment through the instrumentalityY of the anchor link and pin, but the latter likewise secures the parts together and against casual removal or separation, Iyet the parts can be readily removed in an easy and expeditious manner.

In Figures 8 to 10 inclusive I have illustrated a modified form which differentiates from the form above described to the extent that the inner or disk part I3 is provided with an annular flange I4 about the periphery thereof to be received in an annular groove I5 about the periphery of the opening ofthe outer or ring part I6, and in order to facilitate the registration of the bores of the parts I3 and I6, I provide a lug I1 that extends into the opening of the part I6, to be received in a recess I8 in the part I3. The remaining structure is similar to that shown in Figures 1 to '7 inclusive.

In Figure 11 I have illustrated another modified form which is shown as being a one piece button, with a bore I9 extending therein from one edge thereof to receive the pin, as shown, for securing the button which is indicated by the reference numeral 20 to the anchor link 9.

In the forms shown in Figures 1 to 10 inclusive, it will be obvious that the disk and ring parts thereof may be of different'colors and shades to provide different combinations andv the ring parts, as Well as the one piece button of Figure 11 may be of some fanciful design in the form of an ornament, or shaped to represent a person playing some sport, such as tennis, golf or the like, or to represent an animal, such as a dog, and of course the parts and the one piece button may be covered or decorated in any manner.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention vvill be readily apparent.

It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is:

l. In a detachable button, anchoring means to be permanently fixed to a garment or the like, bored button means, a pin to extend into the bored button means and through the anchoring means for detachably securing the former to the latter, a head on the pin, to be clamped against the button means to provide clamping means for the pin to prevent casual removal thereof.

2. In a detachable button, an anchoring link adapted to be stitched to a garment or the like, button means having a recess therein to receive the link, a pin to extend into the button means from the periphery thereof and through the link for detachably securing the button means to the link, and clamping means for the pin to prevent removal thereof.

3. A button comprising an inner part, an outect` `Vtogether, and clamping part surrounding the inner part, said parts being of different character and having bores therein for disposal in registration, a pin received in said bores for securing the parts together, and clamping means on the pin and engageable with the outer part to prevent removal of the pin.

4. A button comprising a disk shaped inner part, a ring shaped outer part having a central opening therein to receive the inner part, said parts being of different character and having bores therein for disposal in registration, a pin received in said bores for securing the parts means on the pin and engageable with the outer part to prevent removal of the pin.

. 5. A button comprising an inner part, an outer part surrounding the inner part, said parts being of different character and having bores therein for disposal in registration, said outer part having a recess therein adjacent its periphery, a pin received in sai-d bores for securing the parts together, a resilient head on the pin and being in the form of a hook receivable in the recess to set up a clamping action to prevent removal of the pin.

6. A button comprising an inner part, an outer part surrounding the inner part, said parts being relatively flat and of different character, and having bores therein for disposal in registration, means on the parts to prevent relative rotation thereof, and for disposing the bores into registration, a pin received in said bores for securing the parts together, and a head on said pin for clamping association with the outer part to prevent removal of the pin.

'7. In a button, an inner disk shaped part having a recess therein, an outer part surrounding the inner part, said parts being of different character and having bores therein arranged for disposal in registration, anchoring means in the form of a link to be permanently Xed to a garment or the like and receivable in the recess, the bore of the inner part intersecting the recess, a pin received in the bores and through the link for securing the parts together and to the link respectively, and a hook shaped head for the pin and engageable with the outer part to set up a clamping action therewith to prevent removal of the pin. v
