Description

June 8, 1937. A. E. TASKILA MULTIPLE FASTENER Filed Sept. 10, 1936 In v enior /u//Zr Z1 ZE 'm/b/Q A tiorneys Patented June 8, 1937 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2,082,988 MULTIPLE FASTENER 'Aulis E. 'l'askila, Negaunee, Mich.
Application September 10, 1936, Serial No. 100,180
1 Claim. (Ci. 24-205) This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in multiple fasteners, andmore veniently and quickly, which is at present a verymarked difliculty when the slider runs off of the teeth.
Other important objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 represents a fragmentary front elevational view of the improved fastener.
Figure 2 is an inside elevational view of one section of the fastener.
'Figure 3 is an inside elevational view of the complementary section of the fastener.
Figure 4 is an end elevational view of the fastener.
Figure 5 is a section substantially on line 5-5 of Figure 4.
Referring to the drawing, wherein. like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 in Figure 1 represents a piece of fabric having a slit therein to the opposite longitudinal edge portions of which are secured the multiple 30 fastener side strips 6 which are connected or disconnected by the slider I.
This slider is of novel construction and consists of the sections 8-9. The section 9 represents the top of the slider, while the section 0 represents 35 the bottom body of the section, the top body 0 consisting of the plate 10 having the converging arcuate-shap'ed side walls llll and at its wide end provided with an upstanding body I 2 which tapers inwardly and which is provided with a 40 longitudinally extending slot It for receiving the longitudinally extending rib ll on the inwardly tapering body l5 of the section 8, which body [5 is also located within the wide portion of the section 8. The sections interlock by the rib l4 engaging into the slot 13, and threaded openings Iii-l1 are provided in the bodies |2--|5 to accommodate the screw l8 which is provided with a head I!) adapted to engage the cap section 9 from which extends the finger grip 20.
As is shown in Figure 2, the plate 2i of the section 8 is provided with converging side walls 22-22 and these side walls ll-ll and 22-22 in complement with the abutting bodies l2l5 define passageways 2323 (see Figure 4) through which the teeth 6 are guided.
In the event the slider runs ofl of the teeth, the cap section 9 can be removed by removing the screw l8 and the section 8 can be properly set on the teeth and the cap again applied without any difliculty.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size, and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, what is claimed said bodies together.
AULIS E. TASKILA.
