Application December '7, 1936, Serial No. 114,703
4 Claims.
This invention appertains to new and useful improvements in means for holding dental X-ray films while being developed.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive holder whereby a multiplicity of dental X-ray can be held simultaneously in position for developing.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a holder of the character stated wherein the various parts are readily separable and attachable together as required.
These and numerous other important objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.
5 In the drawings:-
Figure i represents a side elevational View of the device.
Figure 2 is a horizontal sectional View on the line 2 2 of Figure 1. 20 Figure 3 is a vertical sectional view through the device taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a fragmentary vertical sectional view. Figure 5 is an end elevational view of the holder showing only one of the carriers in place.
Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that Figure 3 shows three of the magazines or car- 30 riers and these are generally referred to by nu merals 5, 6 and 7.
Each of these magazines consists of a pair of end walls 8-5 connected by the angle iron members 9-9 at their lower corners and further connected by a pair of horizontally spaced transversely corrugated strips itii3. These strips are corrugated so as to provide opposed grooveways for the reception of the vertical edge portions of the dental X-ray films ll.
The lowermost magazine 5 has the lower ends of the leg portions I2-l2 secured to its rear angle bar 9. These leg members I2-l2 are part of the single strand handle constructed of spring rod or wire material and formed to provide a handle or hook structure it at its upper end.
Secured to the rearmost angle bar of each of the magazines li'| is a plate 14 which has inwardly bent end portions l5 defining hooks for the reception of the leg portions l2-|2.
In other words the bail I6 of the lower magazine 5 can be swung over the same to engage in the notches ll of its end plates 8 after which the magazine t can be placed upon the magazine 5 and the legs 12 contracted and engage against the plate M on the magazine 6 and subsequently released so as to engage with the hooks l5 thereof. The magazine I is fastened in place in the same manner and, of course, the bails 16 are engaged over the films 8 so as to prevent displacement of the same when immersed in the developing solution.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention what is claimed as new is:--
l. A holder of the character described comprising a magazine structure, a hanger consisting of a pair of spring leg members and a head portion and a hook structure on one side of the said magazine into which the spring leg members of the hanger can be engaged for tensionally securing the magazine to the hanger.
2. A holder of the character described comprising a magazine structure, a hanger consisting of a pair of spring leg members and a head portion and a hook structure on one side of the said magazine into which the spring leg members of the hanger can be engaged for tensionally securing the magazine to the hanger, and a second magazine having the lower ends of the said leg members permanently secured to one side thereof.
3. A holder of the character described com prising a magazine, a hanger having its lower end secured to the magazine, and a bail adapted to be swung over the said magazine to prevent displacement or" articles therein.
4. A holder of the character described comprising a magazine, a hanger for the magazine, said magazine being provided with a pair of Iongitudinally extending and horizontally spaced corrugated strips defining opposed grooveways for the reception of the edge portions of vertically disposed sheet articles disposed in the magazine.
