8 Claims. (01. 98-42) This invention relates to a ventilator construcgram guide means. Thus, the damper may be of tion and has for its principal object to provide a any desired length. In view of the stresses on superior construction for a device of this type and. the elements 25, which are transmitted to the one which, while being relatively inexpensive, will damper itself and the desirability of constructing be highly satisfactory in use and convenient of the damper of thin sheet metal, I prefer to make 5 operation. the elements 25 relatively wide so as to avoid With the foregoing and other objects in view kinking of the damper at the points of connecwhich will be in part apparent and in part pointtion of these elements thereto. ed out hereinafter, the invention consists in all Mounted for sliding motion on the transverse 10 the novel features of construction and arrangestrips 12 is a reciprocating element comprising 10 ment of parts hereinafter described and illusspaced longitudinally extending angle members trated in the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 26 and transversely extending connecting mem- 1 is a transverse section taken through a ridge bers 27 connected at their ends to the members ventilator embodying the invention; Figs. 2 and 26 whereby to brace the latter. For example, the portion shown in length of the damper. it is to be understood that the damper may be made in sections which will not be connected together and that it is only necessary to provide a connecting means for those portions of the elements 26 making up the reciprocable actuator for each section. It is of course necessary that the section shown in Fig. 2, if made separable, would have to be provided with a second pair of guide links 24 and a second actuating portion 29 mounted in the same manner as each of the two half units shown in Fig. 211.
From the foregoing, it will be obvious that I- have provided a device which is well adapted for its intended purpose and while I have shown and described the preferred embodiment, I wish it understood that my invention may be realized in varying constructions and that I am limited only in accordance with the appended claims and the prior art.
