Germany 1 Claim. (01. 242-130) The known spool holders for double twist twisting spindles are mostly arranged for accommodating composite spools as winding-01f spools. For the production of these composite spools, however,
a particularly tedious winding operation is necessary which very detrimentally affects the economy of the double twist twisting machines. For this reason it has already been proposed to work directly from cops in avoiding the winding operlo ation, that is to arrange cops as winding off spools for double twist twisting spindles. The known spool holders are, however, only capable of dealing with or accommodating one cop for each individual thread to be delivered, the running ofi thread being fed to the twisting spindle by a separate thread guide eye to ensure the winding-01f vertically to the cop point. Such an arrangement is not economical because a single cop has a too small capacity for the yarn so that the individual double twist twisting spindles must be served at very short intervals, so that the machine remaindinoperative too often. None of the winding-off spool arrangements hitherto known is therefore capable of enabling an economical utilization of a double twist twisting spindle.
The object of the invention is to overcome these inconveniences.
According to the invention the spool holder is arranged for accommodating several cops for 0 each individual thread, which cops unwind consecutively, each individual thread passing to the twisting spindle over the edge of a smooth thread guide disk or ring. In order to accommodate as many cops as possible, these cops are arranged on the spindle holder plate in two concentric circles, the spindles for the outer circle of cops being in a vertical plane, those for the inner circle being presented angularly, whereby the axis of all the spindles will be in alignment with the outer peripheral edge of the guide disk.
This arrangement presents the advantage that, whilst avoiding any winding operation, cops may be set directly as winding-off spools, an economical working of the double twist twisting spindle being nevertheless attained, because a, larger number of cops are provided for each individual thread. It is possible for these cops to run ofi successively owing to the smooth guide disk because the thread can follow each cop, that is always run oil vertically over the cop point. The cops provided for each individual thread are interconnected in known manner by knotting their ends.
An embodiment of the. invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawing, in which:-
Fig. 1 shows the spool holder in elevation partly in section.
Fig. 2 is a top plan view of Fig. 1.
A stationary spool holder I to be set on the rotary twisting spindle carries at its lower end a plate 2 for accommodating skewers 4 for the cops .3. These skewers 4 may either be fixed or exchangeable. The skewers 4 are arranged on the plate 2 in two concentric circles, the skewers in the outer circle being in a vertical plane, whereas those in the inner circle are presented angularly, so that the axes of all the skewers are in alignment with the peripheral edge of a smooth thread guide disk or ring I over which the individual running off threads 5 and 6 are guided.
The cops are inter-connected in such a manner that, when one of the outside series of cops is emptied, a set of the inner cops will then feed threads to the twisting apparatus. It is proposed to arrange the copsupon the cop supporting disk 2 so that a set of four outer cops and a set of four inner cops may be inter-connected, whereby the cops may be emptied in succession being fed from the outer set and then the inner set of oops.
I claim:
A cop holder for double twist twisting spindles, comprising a vertical shaft, a cop supporting disk secured to the lower end of the shaft, a guide disk secured to the upper end of the shaft, a plurality of cop holding spindles secured to the cop supporting disk, said spindles being arranged in two concentric circles, the outer circle being presented in a vertical plane so that the axis will bein alignment with the peripheral edge of the guide disk and the inner circle of cop supporting spindles being presented angularly whereby the axis thereof will be in alignment with the outer peripheral edge of the guide disk.
