EDWARD FLATHER, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT.
IMPROVEMENT IN THREAD-CUTTERS FOR SEWING-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 207,648, dated September 3, 1878; application filed April 16, 1878.
To all whom it may concern- Be it known that I, EDWARD FLATHER, of Bridgeport, county of Fairfield, State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Thread-Cutters, of which the followingis a specification:
The invention provides a sure and efficient thread-cutter for sewing-machines.
In the accompanying drawings, in which similar letters of reference indicate like parts, A, Figure 1, is the needle-bar. Attached to its lower end is the lower thread-guide, B, fastened t0 the bar A by the screw b. By beveling the shank c of the guide B, I form a sharp, cheap, and simple cutter for severing threads.
I am aware that thread-cutters have heretocutting-edge c.
