This invention relates to folding tables and its general object is to provide a table that includes foldable legs capable of .being moved in unison to either a folded or a set-up position, in an easy and expeditious manner,-and the legs are held in either position against casual movement or displacement.

Another object of the invention is to provide a table with foldable legs having braces acting as such, as well as moving means therefor.

A further object of the invention is to provide a table of the character set forth, that is simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, and extremely emcient in use, operation and service.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in' the appended claim.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings where- Figure 1 is a bottom plan view of the table which forms the subject matter of the present invention, with the legs in folded position and latched accordingly.

Figure 2 is a sectional view taken approximately on line 2--2 of Figure 1, looking in the direction of the arrows.

Figure 3 is a bottom plan view of the table with the legs in unfolded or set-up position.

Figure 4 is a sectional view taken approximately on line 44 of Figure 3, looking in the direction of the arrows.

Referring to the drawings in detail, the reference numeral I indicates the top of my table which is shown as being round, but of course it can be square or other shapes. Secured about the outer edge of the top I in the form as shown,

is a flange 2 that depends below the undersurface of the top, a suitable distance.

Secured to the undersurface of the top I and depending therefrom, preferably adjacent the edge thereof are blocks 3, each of which has hingedly secured thereto a leg 4, through the is received by the screw 1 and contacts the disk, as shown. Radiating from the disk 6 are spokes or arms 9 which have their outer ends secured to the inner side of a ring member ID.

Secured to the ring member Ill by shanks as 5 shown, are balls ll, while a like ball I! is secured to each of the legs, and these balls provide a part of a ball and socket joint connection between each of the legs and the ring member.

The socket cups which are indicated by the ref- 10 In order to rotate or oscillate the ring member 15 ID, a knob 16 is secured thereto, and it will be obvious that due to the ball and socket connection between the legs and the ring member, that when the latter is rotated in one direction, the

legs will be moved on the hinges to an unfolded 20 or set-up position, and when rotated in an opposite direction, the legs will be moved to a .folded position. It will be further obvious that the links not only act as means for moving the legs to the respective positions, but also as brace means for holding the legs in their unfolded or set-up position.

I likewise provide latching means for holding the legs in either of their positions, and the'latch means includes an arm l1 having one end pivotally secured to the underside of the top I, and extending at right angles from the free end of the arm I! is an inwardly directed portion I8 to be received in either of the notches l9 or 20, that are arranged in the outer edge of the ring meni- 35 her as clearly shown in Figures 1 and 3 of the drawings.

When the latch arm is received in the notch IS, the legs are held in folded position as shown in Figure 1, and when it is received in the notch 40 20, the legs are held in an unfolded position as shown in Figure 3. The latch arm has secured thereto a knob 2|, to facilitate its operation.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts,

provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

What I claim is:

A table comprising a top, blocks secured to and depending from the top adjacent to the edge thereof, legs for the table, hinges secured to the undersides oi the blocks and the upper ends connections extending between the underside oi oi the legs for connecting the. latter to the top, the ring member adjacent the outer periphery means mounted for rotation on and centrally of thereof and certain sides oi the legs and secured the underside of the top and including a disk [thereto for disposing the legs into folded or set spokes radiating from the periphery of the disk, up positions upon rotation of the ring member; 5

a horizontally disposed relatively wide flat ring and latching means for holding the legs in their member secured to the outer ends or the spokes folded and set up positions.
