This invention relates to a non-refillable at-n tachment for bottles, jugs and containers, and is des1gned primarily for use in connection with bottles containing high gradeliquors and wines, but

The attachment includes a hollow cap or housing element I of substantially semi-elliptical contour, a stop element 2, a weighting element 3, a
5 valve element 4, a combined outlet and valve seat forming element 5 and a sealing element 6.
The element I is constructed from any suitable material and formed at its outer end with a discharge opening 'I and on its inner face with 60 spaced conducting-off channels 8 extending form- 1936, serial No. 81,109 (C1. aist lengthwise thereof communicating at their outer ends with the opening 'I.` `The element I between its transverse median and its inner` endhas its outer face formed with an annular shoulder 9.
The element 2 is formed of anysuitable material and is positioned within the element I. `The element consists of an inverted cup-shaped circular body III of arcuate cross section formed with a-series of openings II. The elementv 2 is arranged within element I intermediate the ends of the latter'. The diameter 'of element 2 is such with respect to the inner diameter` of element I to permit the shifting of element 2 within element I for a portion of the length of the latter. The element 2'constitutes a stop for the weight- 1v ing element 3 which will now be referred to,
The weighting element 3 is formed of anysuitable material and is positioned within the element I rearwardly with respect to element` 2. The weighting element 3 'consists of a solidbody 20.` formed of an outer rounded portion I2, a circular intermediate portion: I3 `and aninverted frustoconoidal rear portion I4 formed with a flat rear end I5. I l v The Valve element 4 is formed of any suitablel material and vconsists of a disc-like body I6 provided onits rear face andaxially of such face with a rearwardly directed stem I1 which is flared at its pointof joinder with thebody I6, as indicated at'I8'. I I f The combined outlet and valve'seatjforming element 5"is formed of any suitable material and consists of a disc-like body`|9 cut out to vform a pair. of` oppositely disposed segmental-shaped spaced beveled edges 20, a rectangular, opening 2|, a pair of oppositely disposed dished out portions 22 leading to the walls of the opening 2| and a pair of oppositely disposed, outwardly inclined opposed wall forming portions 23 which lead from said beveled edges to the side walls of the opening 2l. The valve element 4 seats upon the element 5 and the stem of the latter is arranged between the wall forming portions 23. The flared upper part of the stem I1 normally seats on the beveled edges 2l). The wall forming portions 23 are inclined outwardly with respect to the beveled edges 20. The dished out portions 22 facilitate the passage of the fluid through the element 5. The body I9 of the element 5 is suitably secured to the inner face of the element I at the inner end thereof.
The element 6 is in the form of a resilient gasket 24 which is arranged against the rear edge of the element I and positioned upon the edge of the bottle neck 25.
Any suitable means may be employed for anchoring the element I to the bottle neck 25 in a manner whereby the element 6 will be compressed to provide a seal between the element I and bottle neck 25. By way of example, a means for such purpose is indicated at 26 and bears against the shoulder 9 of element I and also against the peripheral shoulder 21 of the bottle neck 25.
The part of largest diameter of the element 5 is of less diameter than the inner diameter ofthe element I. The diameter of the element 4 is less than the Adiameter of the element d:
When the bottle is in an upright position, the element 3 which is arranged inthe element I will be positioned in the manner as shown in Figure 2, and willv hold down valve element 4 whereby the valve element 4 will act as a closure to prevent the passage of liquid through element 5. The element 3 functions to maintain the element 4V Vin the position shown in Figure 1 as the element 3 has its flat inner en'd I5 seated on the outer face of the valve element 4. A non-rellable attachment for the pur` pose set forth comprising a hollow cap element adapted to be anchored upon the neck of a container, said element being open at its outer and inner ends, thev open outer end of said element Y constituting la discharge outlet, said element being formed lengthwise of its inner face with spaced conducting-off channelscommunicating with said outlet, a stationary valve seat forming elementvarranged within said cap element at the inner end of the latter and formed with means for the discharge of the contents of the container into said cap element, a shiftable valve element for seating on said valve seat forming element arranged within the cap element for closing and including a part extending into said means, a shiftable weighting element normally seating on said valve element for maintaining thelatter in closing position relative to vsaid means, and a `perforated stop element positioned within said 3.
