My invention relates to improvements in cultivators and the object of my improvement is to provide a harrow of unusually simplified construction, but also very rugged and eflicient.
Further objects are to provide means of rapid adjustment and a novel arrangement of the gangs. Still further. objects will appear from the description.

The disks l, mounted upon axles 2, are arranged in four gangs, two in front and two behind, and are held in position by supports 3 bolted to the upper frame by bolts 4 and 5.
On the rear gangs the bolts 4 pass through slots 6 so that the axles 2 may be shifted into or out of parallelism with the upper frame, and so give the disks of the rear gangs greater or less plow action than those of the front gangs.
In the frame is a zigzag steel plate 1 to which are attached one front and one rear gang, and a similar plate 8 to which are attached the other front and rear gangs. The plates 1 and 8 cross at the center and are held together by a single kingbolt 9 which allows a scissors-like action between them.
A steel strip It lies above and a second strip I l below the central portion of plates 1, 8. These strips it, H are held apart by sleeves I2 upon the bolts it which fasten them together.
Upon the ldngbolt 9 is a sleeve similar to that upon bolt l3 but designed to act as a bearing at the point of greatest strain when the harrow is being drawn forward.
A tongue M, bolted at the rear to strips I0, II, is drilled with several holes l5, and slidably held in front between the transverse plate l6 and the drawbar l1. Bolts [8 serve to hold together the plate and drawbar and also act as guides for the tongue Hi. The transverse plate I6 is attached to the forward ends of the zigzag plates I and 8 by links l9 and 20.
For deep cutting, the gangs are arra t oblique angles to the direction of pull; for shallow cutting at right angles. Adjustment is made by removing pin 2! and backing up the tractor. The drawbar l1 and the attached plate l6 then slide back on the tongue [4 and the pin 20 is inserted in another of the holes l5 to give the desired angle.
Pushing back the plate It spreads the attached links I9 and swings the zigzag plates 1 and 8 5 into a more parallel position as shown in Figure V. To facilitate adjustment washers or ball bearings 22 are provided between the plates 1 and 8.
I claim:
1. A disk harrow having a frame plate with parallel end portions joined by a central portion at an oblique angle to the end portions, a second frame plate similar to the first but reversed and crossing it, ball bearings between said frame 5 plates, a pivotal bolt joining together the centers of said frame plates, a sleeve bearing upon said bolt, gangs of disks beneath said frame plates, longitudinal strips above and below the central portions of said frame plates and penetrated by 20 said pivotal bolt, sleeved bolts separating said strips, a tongue attached to said strips, adjusting holes in said tongue, a sliding member upon said tongue, a pin passing through said sliding member and any one of the adjusting holes in 25 said tongue, and links joining said sliding member to the forward ends of said frame plates.
2. A harrow having in combination diagonally crossed frame members, gangs of disks rigidly and longitudinally attached to opposite ends of 30 said frame members, a pivotal bolt fastening together said crossed members, and means for adjusting the angle between said crossed members.
3. A harrow having crossed frame plates, a longitudinal strip running forward from the point of crossing of said plates, a pivotal bolt fastening together said crossed plates and said strip, gangs of disks rigidly attached to said crossed plates, a slidable member upon said longitudinal strip, a pin passing through said strip and said slidable member, and links joining said slidable member and the forward ends of said frame plates.
4. A disk harrow having two crossed frame members, each with parallel end portions joined by central portions integral therewith and at obtuse angles thereto, disk gangs attached to said frame members, means for changing the angle between said crossed frame members, and draft means attached to said frame members.
