Description

J3me 3, 19360 J FERRIGNO 21345 983 TOY VEHICLE Filed June 12, 1935 6 I 0! o o o /l l /0 O o o V Inventor o o JO/Zn Jkrryno A lfomey Patented June 30, 1936 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to a toy vehicle, the general object of the invention being to provide a wheel supported base on which the operator stands and uses one foot for propelling the vehicle by pushing upon the surface over which the vehicle is traveling, with a casing extending upwardly from the front end of the device and having handle bars at its upper end.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which:
Figure 1 is an elevation of the device.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.
Figure 3 is a view looking toward the rear part of the device.
Figure 4 is a section on the line 4-4 of Figure 1.
In this drawing, the numeral l indicates an elongated platform which is supported by the front and rear pairs of wheels 2 which are carried by the depending brackets 3. A mat 4 covers the major part of the platform and a casing 5 has its bottom part connected to the front end of the platform. This casing is of semi-circular shape in cross section with its straight side facing the rear and said casing is composed of the upper and lower end pieces 6, the uprights l and the metal semi-circular member 8 which is connected with the uprights and with the upper and lower end pieces. A horizontal partition 9 extends across the casing and divides the same into upper and lower chambers. A pair of handle bars l extend rearwardly and outwardly from the upper end of the casing.
Thus I have provided a simple form of toy vehicle which can be propelled along the surface by one standing on the platform and using one foot for engaging the surface to propel the device along the surface, the handle bars providing means for guiding the device and for supporting the occupant on the platform. The casing can be used for conveying articles of various kinds 10 from one place to another.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
What is claimed is:
1. A device of the class described comprising an elongated platform, front and rear wheels supporting the same, a vertically arranged casing of semi-circular shape in cross section with its straight side open and facing the rear, means for fastening the bottom of the casing directly to the front end of the platform and handle bars connected to the top of the casing and extending rear- Wardly and outwardly from the open side thereof.
2. A device of the class described comprising an elongated platform, front and rear wheels supporting the same, a casing extending upwardly from the front end of the device and handle bars extending rearwardly from the upper end of the casing, said casing being of semi-circular shape in cross section and having a partition therein.
