Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • The present application claims priority to, and the benefit of, Pakistan Provisional Application No. 114/23, which was filed on Feb. 22, 2023, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates generally to the field of glasses cases. More specifically, the present invention relates to a multi-purpose glasses case device that allows a user to store eyeglasses and provides a plurality of other functionalities. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Many individuals rely on various types of eyewear, including reading glasses, sunglasses, and prescription glasses, for daily activities. These glasses are essential for vision correction, protection from the sun, or simply as a fashion accessory. When not in use, it's common practice to store and transport these glasses in a carrying case to protect them from scratches, dust, and potential damage. However, the design of existing glasses cases often fails to fully utilize the dimensions and storage capabilities of the case. This underutilization of space can be inconvenient, especially for those who need multiple pairs of glasses throughout the day. Furthermore, a standard glasses case typically accommodates only one pair of glasses, which limits its functionality for individuals who switch between different types of eyewear. This presents a challenge in terms of practicality and convenience, as users have to carry multiple cases or choose which pair of glasses to bring along, potentially leaving them without the necessary eyewear at crucial times.
  • Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved glasses case. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a multi-purpose glasses case device. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a multi-purpose glasses case device that can store a plurality of glasses. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a multi-purpose glasses case device that can store a plurality of glasses and also can store a plurality of other daily items. Further, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a multi-purpose glasses case device that can store a plurality of glasses and other daily items, wherein the device has additional functionality beyond storage.
  • The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a multi-purpose glasses case device. The device is used for securely storing and accessing personal items like eyeglasses. This device is composed of two halves connected by a hinge, wherein each half is comprised of a sidewall forming an interior space with various fasteners and storage areas. The device also incorporates a customizable decorative cap that can attach to either half and may include additional functionalities like a battery bank or a charger. The cap and both halves can be adorned with decorative elements and have attachment points for easy carrying. Additionally, the device may include a phone receiving structure that can display a phone in various positions and may include charging capabilities.
  • In this manner, the multi-purpose glasses case device of the present invention accomplishes all the forgoing objectives and provides an improved glasses case. More specifically, the device can store a plurality of glasses and can store a plurality of other daily items. Further, the device has additional functionality beyond storage.
  • SUMMARY
  • The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
  • The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a multi-purpose glasses case device. The device is comprised of a body comprised of a first half and a second half attached via at least one hinge. Both halves are comprised of at least one side wall that preferably radially surrounds the entire first half such that the side wall forms an interior space. The interior space may be comprised of at least one fastener designed to receive/secure a pair of eyeglasses (or other personal item). In another embodiment, the interior space may be comprised of at least one interior wall. The wall forms a storage area between the wall and side wall to allow any type of item to be stored within said storage area. Either or both halves may be comprised of at least one cross member that further secures and supports a pair of glasses within the half. In one embodiment, the interior space of either or both halves are comprised of at least one fixedly attached or removably attached insert to secure a pair of glasses into/onto the insert. Either or both halves may be comprised of at least one locking mechanism that secures the halves together.
  • In one embodiment, the device is comprised of at least one decorative cap that can be attached over and to the outer surface of the first half (or second half in different embodiments of the device). The cap may be comprised of at least one fastener located on the bottom surface of the cap. The fastener may be any fastener type that allows the cap to attach to the outer surface. In another embodiment, the fastener is comprised of at least one reciprocating fastener that attaches to the fastener of the cap. The cap may also have any decorative design/pattern and may be made of any material. In one embodiment the decorative cap is secured on any outer and or inner of walls. The cap may be foldable/collapsible with different embodiments. The cap may also be placed over either half when the halves are separated (i.e., open) such that the cap can function as a lid for one half while the other half remains open (allowing accessibility to the glasses stored within the open half). The cap may also be comprised of (or may receive) a utility structure such as but not limited to a power battery bank, headphones/earphones, a wired or wireless cell phone charger, a nail file, a hair brush, a makeup item, a mirror, a health/vital sign monitoring device, a glucometer, or other items.
  • In one embodiment, the surface of the first half (or second half and/or decorative cap) and/or walls has at least one decorative shaped holes which can receive at least one insert, having corresponding decorative male member. The insert can be seated on the inner surface of the first half (or second half) and/or walls where the male decorative members will emerge outwardly while passing through the female members in order to provide at least one decorative arrangement outwardly of the first half (or second half) and/or walls. In one embodiment, an additional insert of any flexible material is placed in between the decorative shaped holes and decorative male member enabling the male member to emerge out of the holes with fully covered the soft/flexible/cloth type material/member adopting the entire and or shape close to the corresponding male member.
  • In one embodiment, the device is comprised of at least one phone receiving structure that receives a cell phone (or other similar device) and allows the phone to be placed/displayed in a vertical or horizontal manner. In one embodiment, the structure is positioned on the exterior of the halves. In this embodiment, the structure attaches to either or both halves via at least one hinge that allows the structure to fold when not in use. The structure may be comprised of at least one notch that receives the phone. The structure may also be comprised of at least one opening to receive a charging cable. In one embodiment, the structure is comprised of a rechargeable phone charging structure such as but not limited to a wired or wireless charger. In another embodiment, the bottom wall of either half may be comprised of at least one recessed area that receives the cell phone in a level vertical or horizontal position. In one embodiment, the structure is integrated into the locking mechanism.
  • Accordingly, the multi-purpose glasses case device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides an improved glasses case. More specifically, the device can store a plurality of glasses and can store a plurality of other daily items. Further, the device has additional functionality beyond storage.
